Mots à Deviner (Thomson MO, Thomson TO)

Mots à Deviner is a simple educational game about using context to find the meaning and spelling of words.

NOTE: The Thomson TO tape releases are currently unpreserved.

Commented-Out Lines#

The game's BASIC files contain several commented lines:

DEVINER.BAS (MO5) / MOTDEV.BAS (TO9)#

  • Line 1 contains credits to programmers Jean-Marie Primaux and Olivier Rozenkranc, which were slightly changed in the TO9/TO8/TO9+ disk version from the Logiciels Nathan Ecoles : Français compilation.

  • Line 45999 contains a reference for some of the variables:

'****** DECOUPAGE DE ES$,MOTS DANS ES$(RB),NOMBRE DE MOTS=RB**********

EDMOTDEV.BAS#

  • Lines 1 to 4 contain more credits to Jean-Marie Primaux and Olivier Rozenkranc, alongside a version number. Oddly, the TO9 disk version lists a smaller version despite being released later.

  • Lines 35205 and 45094 contain name entries for the file loading and saving routines, respectively. These are not present in the TO9 disk version.
