Conjucalc is an educational game that teaches students verb conjugation.
Commented-Out Lines#
The game's BASIC files contain several commented lines.
CONJUC.BAS#
- Lines 1 to 5 contain credits to Jacques Balu, Olivier Rozenkranc, and Michel Bussac, and a version number. In the TO9/TO8/TO9+ version from the Logiciels Nathan Ecoles : Français compilation, there's an added modification date of December 16, 1985.

- Line 39 is part of the initialization routine.
'IFDREFF=1 THEN50
Lines 1385 and 1390 are part of the drawing routine that triggers whenever the player clears a round. Uncommenting the first one enables a blue background behind the person that is drawn.
'BOXF(264,BY)-(310,166),-5
'RETURN
- Line 2500 is a simple annotation on one of the variables.

- Line 7900 is part of the verb choice routine, and is a check for the light pen.
' IFZR$=""THEN RETURN 'EXPLOITATION
'''''''CRAYON
- Lines 8930 and 8932 are part of the file loading routine.
'IF DREFF=1 THEN 8990
'IFFEP=NF THENRETURN
- Lines 27000 and 27010 are part of the game customization routines, and would have displayed some unused text strings:
'CLS:LOCATE1,8:PRINT"Assurez-vous que la touche LECTURE du":PRINT" L.E.P. est bien enfoncée"
'COLOR1:PRINT:PRINT:PRINT" Frappez sur une touche quelconque du":LOCATE16,13:PRINT"clavier"
EDCG2.BAS (MO5/TO7) / EDCONJUC.BAS (TO9)#
These files partain to the editor program. The first few strings contain a version number and credits to Jacques Balu, Oliver Rozenkranc, and Michel Bussac. The TO9/TO8/TO9+ disk version from the Logiciels Nathan Ecoles : Français compilation adds a credit to Xavier Cador, and, curiously, mentions the Nanoréseau network; no version of this game specific to it is currently preserved.

- The MO5/TO7 tape releases also have an additional commented string definition command at Line 5:
'PROG$="EDCG"
Revisional Differences#
Oddly, the original MO5/TO7 tape releases have the name "Conjugaison" in the title screen. This was corrected in the TO9 disk version, alongside adding a copyright notice to Cedic-Nathan.
