Pêle-mêle (Thomson MO, Thomson TO)

Pêle-mêle is a very simple educational game about restructuring sentences.

Commented-Out Lines#

The game's BASIC files contains several lines that are commented out:

PELMEL.BAS#

Lines 10 and 11 contain a version number and credits to programmers Michelle Claudé, Michel Bussac, and Olivier Rozenkranc:

'*** PELE-MELE ***   VERS 2.2
'CLAUDE/BUSSAC (Rozenkranc)

Line 2110 contains a simple command to print a dot to the screen.

'PRINT"."

Line 2610 contains a check of sorts.

'IFVAL(OSS$(P%))=I%ANDOSS$(P%+1)=" "THENPRINT" " ' ELSEIFP%<OSSI%-1 THENP%=P%+1:GOTO2610

EDPEL.BAS#

The first two lines contain a version number:

'EDITEUR PELE-MELE  CASSETTE
'VERSION 3.1.1

Revisional Differences#

The TO9/TO8/TO9+ disk version from the Logiciels Nathan Ecoles : Français compilation comments the following lines from EDPEL.BAS, which are part of the printing routine:

16030 'GOSUB130
16040 'COLOR2:LOCATE 0,12:PRINT"Impression  en cours"
16070 ' PRINT#2,MF$(LL,ZR)
16080 ' NEXT:NEXT:CLOSE:GOTO10

This results in the text "Impression en cours" not being displayed while the created phrases are being printed. Furthermore, uncommenting them will throw a File Not Found error.

In addition to this, when phrases are printed, the level in which they are stored is no longer. The same phrases are used for consistency.
