Helmed by the loons behind Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and with new EPIC cinematography by famed director Ryuhei Kitamura, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is a remake of the 1998 classic in the game engine of its sequel. Noteworthy for new re-recorded English audio tracks featuring the returning cast from the original game (courtesy of David Hayter forfeiting his paycheck) and aforementioned cinematography with iconic moments, like Snake bouncing off of an in-flight missile, or him flipping out and pointing a gun at Baker's head.
Though to be fair, Kitamura wasn't exactly to blame for all that.

Holding Cells#
Only the Alert theme is used in this area, first during the ambush sequence with Meryl, and later when fighting Johnny in the Medical Room, and in both cases the combat status goes straight from Alert Mode to Normal Mode. The Detect theme is used later in the game, during the Connecting Bridge ambush in Alert Mode.

Communication Towers#
The Detect theme is never used in the game, since the stairs battle is scripted to enter Alert Mode immediately, and there are no other enemies in either tower, only gun cameras.

The unused Canyon truck stop voice from the original game was fully re-recorded for this game, despite no extra cardboard box being implemented for it.

Psycho Mantis Scans#
Just like in the original, Mantis reads your Memory Card, starting with analyzing Snake (or rather, the player)'s performance up to that point as well as reading saves from other games. In the latter's case, the original game's plethora of Konami titles were replaced with first-party Nintendo games (and Eternal Darkness, for obvious reasons).1
