Castle of Illusion is a remake/reimagining of the classic Genesis platformer. It was the last game developed by Sega Studios Australia, which was shuttered shortly before the game's release.

The game was officially delisted from most storefronts on September 2, 2016, before being brought back on March 31, 2017.

Unused Graphics#

All of the game's data is stored in data.pak, with the textures being plain TGA files. Unfortunately, there are no proper file names.

Chili Pepper Icon#

15aa8a201a3c43fc97a9b81a931cf6a2.tga is an unused sprite of the chili pepper. Possibly could have been an early design of it.

Coming Summer 2013#

a83319778ecd4071a86185d730db006b.tga is text that reads "COMING SUMMER 2013", likely used in a demo version.

Alpha Version#

Text that reads "ALPHA VERSION", likely used somewhere on the title screen at some point.

Age Ratings#

06ec1d8ed3054590979fd4b70e219c5b.tga has age ratings for various regions. This might've been used in a demo version, but it's not used anywhere in the final game.

While the copyright text sprite (efc903d3516a4f77bf59d75874d60b95.tga) is used on the title screen, the Sega Studios Australia logo is never shown in-game.
