Bubble Bobble II (PlayStation)

This game was never completed and/or given a public release.
As a result of this, keep in mind that the developers might have used or deleted some of the content featured here, had the game actually been released.

This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.

The PS1 Bubble Bobble II is a port of dubious quality that went unreleased for unknown reasons, despite getting a review from Official UK PlayStation Magazine. A build dated January 30, 1997 has been floating around the Internet for a long, long time.

Unused Graphics#

Inside the TIMS folder is an unusually high-resolution file called 640PAD.TIM, which appears to be a scratchpad for graphics depicting a PlayStation controller.

Dummy File#

Hidden inside the TIMS folder is a 34 MB dummy file named DUFFY. When read as a signed 16-bit PCM audio file (with a sample rate of 44.1 KHz), it is revealed to be a copy of "Hello", the opening track from English Britpop band Oasis' second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

Coincidentally, this wouldn't be the last time that a full Oasis song from this album would find its way into a game as padding.
