Minecraft: Wii U Edition is a port of Minecraft to the Nintendo Wii U. Besides the whole "being on a failed console" thing, this version is notable for being bundled with an exclusive mash-up pack based on Nintendo's Super Mario franchise. Said mash-up pack would later be made available on both versions of the game on the Wii U's more successful younger brother.
Unused Graphics#
Unused DLC Icon#

What appears to be a placeholder image that would've been displayed when choosing DLC for the Battle mini-game. A completely different icon is used instead, showing the actual DLC instead of this. An early name for the mini-game is also present.
PlayStation 3 Edition leftovers#
There's also a PlayStation Store logo, which is a PS3 leftover.
Another PS3 leftover.
Development Tools Leftovers#
This is an unused leftover from one of the tools used to make Minecraft: Wii U Edition, this also may have been used for testing. Furthermore, this image was removed in later versions due to the game using a different method to store GUI images and thus no longer using the middleware.
This is another unused leftover from one of the tools used to make the game.
Super Mario Mash-Up Pack#
Unused How to Play Images#

Unused images meant for the "How to Play" section when the Super Mario Mash-up Pack is applied. The Ender Dragon was originally going to be textured after Hooktail, the Pigs were originally going to be textured after Midbus, the Ender Chest was originally featured an Mr. I from Super Mario 64 and the Horses were originally going to be retextured to look like Yoshi instead of a generic design that the final version bestows them with.
The image with the Yoshi Horses were used up until the update adding the Battle Mini Game.
Ruby#
An unused texture of the unused Ruby item when the Super Mario Mash-up Pack is applied, which is based on Bowser’s emblem.
Internal Project Directory Structure#
The main executable contains a file path that reveals the internal project's directory structure. Cafe is the internal name of the Wii U, and "MinecraftClient" being the internal game name.

To do: |
All of the maps used in the Battle and Tumble Mini Games are quite bigger than what can be seen. To elaborate, only a small part of the maps are actually used; things like background details and small Easter eggs can be found out of bounds.
Present in Every Mode#
The Lobby can be found out of sight in all minigames. This is because every minigame keeps you in the same world as the lobby, battle, tumble, glide maps are loaded into a far away area, where the players will be teleported once loading completes.
Cavern#
A lot of unused scenery is present out of bounds. In the large version of the cavern, blocks like chests, furnaces, and signs can be seen out of bounds, these are most likely used for testing how these features work within Battle.
Glide#
A number of secrets were added to the Lobby, including hidden music discs and mob heads.
All Maps#
The background arena is a little bigger than what can be seen in-game.
