Dead or Alive is the first game in the eponymous series. Unlike the later games in the series, known for exorbitant efforts at sex appeal, the original was rather tame (outside of the "jiggling" physics), and had fewer female characters than males.

The game was later re-released as Dead or Alive ++ on the cheaper, PlayStation-based ZN1 hardware, with some elements from the PlayStation version.

Unused Character#

Attainable through the use of playing with the character select values is an unused mess of a character called "Champion". It seems to be comprised of white spheres with some gray markings on one side, and is very glitchy.

Unused Music#

A short theme, labelled in the official soundtrack release as "The Final Chopper". It is also labelled as an "Appeal BGM", indicating it may've once been planned for the attract sequence.

Unused Animations#

In Dead or Alive++ there is an unused KO version of the lift stun that ends with the opponent falling to the floor.
