The very first fourth (alongside its FM77AV counterpart) version of the very first Ys game. Was one of five ports initially released for various Japanese computers.
Unused Music Test#
Insert Disk B in Drive 0, boot up the computer and type in "Hitomi" with a capital "H". This will bring up the Music Test. All the tracks below are unused and not played during normal gameplay. Each track will play through and move onto the next one, but you can also press [SPACEBAR] to cycle through them.

Hidden Text#
On Disk B, there is a small bit of text embedded next to the Hidden Unused Music "Code" that explains:

Unused Text#
As this game uses the same script, pointers, and assets as the PC-88 version it was ported from, it also has the same unused dialog and item names found in it.
Item Names#
The text for the 'Status Screen' has names in it that do not appear in the game. These names are likely leftover from the development process, but since the game writes what the player has (or doesn't have) to memory on top of this, it doesn't matter. *Note: These names being present does not necessarily mean the data for these items is still present (status unknown).

Dialogue#
There is a fair amount of unused text in this game. All of these text blocks have pointers in the appropriate pointer tables, however nothing triggers them (special thanks to mizuwari & forrealsyall for help with translating some of these).

The ring seems to be emitting a faint glow. I don't know what kind of ring it is, but I'll take it with me regardless. |
