Ys III: Wanderers From Ys is the third game in the legendary Ys series and is known for being the only one that was sidescrolling instead of having an overhead view.

Weirdly, the US release shipped only a mere month after the Japanese one, leading to some weird and often rushed translation, even weirder the script also carried alot of the name changes from the TurboGrafx version.

Developer Message#

Present at $304 in the Japanese ROM.

$FFE1EE ni $FFFF(word) wo kakikomu to, ADOL ga Sinanai.

If you write word $FFFF to $FFE1EE, Adol won't die.

Following the instruction with the patch code FFE1EE:FFFF will enable invulnerability, in the "colliding with an enemy does nothing" fashion. The text "UNDEAD", confirming the code input, will be displayed in the lower-left margin of the screen throughout.

The cheat also works in the US version, but the developer message was removed.
