This is a sub-page of Undertale/Unused Text.
Unused Toriel Intro Line#
An unused line of dialogue intended to be spoken by Toriel when she saves you from Flowey, which isn't shown as the line right after it where she says she will guide you through the catacombs mistakenly overwrites it.
I will do my best
to ensure your
protection during
your time here.
Early Ruins Introduction#
A slightly earlier version of Toriel's dialogue introducing you to the Ruins, with a different line break placement. Removed by version 1.001-4 (1.05 on PC), being replaced by the final dialogue.

Switch Room#
Unused dialogue from Toriel likely meant for the switch room, as it is placed between other dialogue used in that room. It is unknown how it would have triggered, as there is no code associated with it.

Slightly early dialogue from Toriel in the dummy room when speaking to her before talking to the dummy. A Japanese translation of this does exist; however, it is exactly the same as the Japanese translation of the final line.

Rock Candy Bowl#
Text for interacting with obj_candydish2, an early version of the Monster Candy dish found in room_ruins12B_old that gives the unused Rock Candy item.
* It says 'Take them all.'
* Take a candy?
Yes No
(Interacting with the bowl)
* You decided not to take some.
(If you don't take a candy)
* You took a piece.
* Boy, that's heavy.
(If you do take a candy)
* You can't carry more.
* It's just too heavy.
(Attempting to take a candy while already carrying one)
Early Toriel Sock Drawer Dialogue#
Early dialogue for interacting with Toriel's sock drawer in her room, tied to obj_readable_room1 instead of obj_sockdrawer. Strangely, in the demo of Undertale, this was the same as the final dialogue, however it was changed for unknown reasons.

Unused Pre-Toriel Genocide Battle Message#
During the Genocide Route in the Demo, in the cutscene before the fight with Toriel, Toriel's normal dialogue plays up until after her saying "Prove yourself..." then the lines above will display. However, they don't display in the final game, as the related code now requires the kill counter for the Ruins and Snowdin to be greater than 11 to be ran, and one normally can't access Snowdin without fighting Toriel.

True Pacifist Tree Dialogue#
Unused dialogue intended to appear when interacting with the tree outside Toriel's house during the True Pacifist epilogue; however, it is mistakenly part of the code for the top half of the tree, and only the bottom half is interactable.

Battle#
Froggit#
The first Froggit encounter uses a separate enemy object from regular Froggits called obj_fakefroggit. In the code for this version of Froggit are early versions of some flavor text that appears throughout the battle that has broken spacing, line breaks, and indentation.

Loox#
Text that is supposed to appear after picking on Loox; however, it doesn't as the code for it appearing mistakenly checks if Loox's mercy percentage is less than -100% instead of less than or equal to -100%.

A duplicate line from the Napstablook battle that is oddly in Toriel's boss code. Napstablook's kill code was likely copy and pasted for Toriel, which is why this exists.

Flowey's Error#
The default placeholder message for Flowey's dialogue that appears when you first meet him if you had reset a Genocide or Neutral run. It is also used as a placeholder message for when you meet Flowey after fighting Toriel, and ends up appearing if you enter that room before fighting Toriel. It appears to softlock the game when triggered.

Pie Flavor Error#
If you reset your game, Toriel will guess your favorite pie flavor from the choice you made pre-reset. If this went wrong and the value of what pie you chose is set to 0, this message would be displayed.
