Unused Code

This is a sub-page of Grand Theft Auto V.

'This page or section details content from the2022 GTA V Source Code Leak.'''

To do:

  • Replicate that DLC Selection menu stuff and see if it exists on all releases.
  • Code that's only activated on builds flagged as debug builds like ainewengland test. (Simple debugging script for a couple of ped AI features.)
  • Check which code from script\dev_ng\Code is actually in the final release builds.
  • script\dev_ng\core\game\debug_menu + script\dev_ng\core\common\debug_menu + script\dev_ng\singleplayer\scripts\debug = debug menu!
    • core/game/debug_menu
    • debug

Unused DLC Selection Menu

Watch on YouTubeAs mentioned in the Rockstar Newswire back in April 2014, there were plans for story mode DLCs but they never came out. There are remains of an unused DLC selection menu that is similar to the one in GTA: Episodes From Liberty City, and it can be accessed by modifying the code.
In this screen, there are three selections with seemingly placeholder titles that say "GTA", "Trevor", and "Dead". Selecting any of the titles besides "GTA" brings the player to a completely blank map with Michael as the playable character.
As shown by the code, and even further with later-leaked source code, the "Dead" DLC was something similar to Undead Nightmare in Red Dead Redemption, and "Trevor" was about that character being a secret agent.

Placeholder Mission

This needs some investigation.

Specifically: What does the 'code block lengths' error mean?

Like the name suggests, this left-over code is a simple placeholder mission. According to the script, this code was written by Keith and modified by Kenneth R.

Using this code as a mission crashes the game, due to the codes block lengths being wrong.

This script has a couple of debug functions that only work in the debug build. When the player presses S or J the Mission Passed function is ran, which passes the mission. When the player presses F, the mission is failed. These key-binds only work when the player is using the 'debug' keyboard mode. Which can be selected using Left Alt + Tab in the debug build.

This mission doesn't have any gameplay. The only thing this mission has are the debug shortcuts and some text that is displayed by this loop.
