Slime Dunk, Stasis Dunk, and Slam Dunk Tutorials#
Dan Aykroyd recorded voicelines intended to introduce the player to alternate trapping methods, but they went unused.

Did you know you can use the slime tether for trapping, too? |
|
|
You sure can! Just tag a ghost with one end of a slime tether, and hit an available trap with the other end. |
|
|
When the slime tether contracts...Za-ping! Instant trapped ghost. |
|
|
Depending on the strength of the ghost, it may take multiple tethers. |
|
|
Some ghosts you can't tether-trap at all. So it goes! |
Stasis Dunk#

|
Hey cadet, check this out: you can auto-trap using the stasis stream! |
|
|
All you have to do is put a floating ghost into full stasis. |
|
|
Then just launch a trap under that ghost. |
|
|
Voila! Instant stasis-trapping. |
|
|
Now, remember, this technique won't work on very powerful ghosts or ground-based entities. |
Slam Dunk#

|---|---|---|
|
I tell ya, rook, one of the true joys in the profession is a beautifully executed slam-trap. |
|
|
Its elegance belies its simplicity: just capture a ghost and store up plenty of slam charge in your slam meter. |
|
|
Wrangle him near or over and available trap... |
|
|
Then...blam!...slam him straight into the open trap. |
|
|
No wriggling, no squirming...just a straight, clean trap. |
|
|
The real experts can set up a chain-slam before lobbing him into the trap. That means absolutely no wrangling at all! |
|
|
Remember: if the trap cone is already activated before you begin the slam-trap, the trap won't work. You can only perform a slam-trap when the trap cone is inactive. |
Unused Stinky Ghost Fight#
These dialogue files imply that there would be a stinky ghost in the Return to the Sedgewick Hotel level. One of the lines was reused for the Sloth Ghost tutorial boss, which a developer suggested could have possibly been the stinky ghost. However, a few pages in the game's story script released by Spook Central are missing, including the pages featuring the stinky ghost, so we may never know.

Unused Cutscene Dialogue#
Some of the test cutscenes included additional dialogue, but not all recorded dialogue was used. Some of these lines were used in the Stylized version of the game. This section includes cut dialogue not included in any test cutscenes.

Suddenly, Venkman comes over the radio.
PETER (radio): So, you'll be very happy to know Ilyssa and I have compatible zodiac signs.
RAY: That's great, Venkman. Did you ask her anything useful?
PETER (radio): All in good time, gentlemen. What did you find at the Museum?
EGON: We got a little sidetracked.
PETER (radio): Wait... I'm doing all the hard work with a beautiful and confused young woman and you guys pop out for pizza? (beat) Okay, I see how it is. Venkman out.

The possessor ghosts were formerly the girls from the Mission. We got that scan during that fight. |
|
|
Anyway, sometimes those women never came back to the Mission, or anywhere else. |
|

Gozer worshippers. |
|
That's my guess. Anyway, one night the Mission mysteriously went up in flames, and all the Wayward Angels went with it. My guess is that the board wanted their secret activities to stay that way. |
|
|
Peter, if these black slime ghosts are the same Board of trustees, they had a bad habit of misusing women for black rituals, and now they're back and they've got... |

These lines were most likely cut due to missing lines from Bill Murray for Peter Venkman. The two cutscenes following the Spiderwitch boss fight were written as a gameplay sequence, but were eventually produced as cutscenes. Below are the script and voicelines for the extended dialogue.
EGON: We appear to have ended up in the Ruby Ballroom. We'll meet you back at Ecto-1.
PETER (O.S.): (radio) Yeah, get out here, will ya? I got this sled double parked.
EGON: (into radio) Venkman, did you find anything at Peck's?
PETER (O.S.): (radio) Only that the poor sap lives with his mother and his aunt and is unloved by both... very sad.
WINSTON (O.S.): (radio) I don't think any self-respecting destructor form would live with his mother... do you?
PETER (O.S.): (radio) I got an idea... let's talk about it in the car. Get out here!

Lost and Unproduced Cutscenes#
Stay Puft Attacks (unproduced)#
This cutscene was supposed to be produced in CGI before the Stay Puft boss fight. This dialog is heard in the Stylized version. Below is the script page for the cutscene.
FMV: CUT SCENE 6A - STAY PUFT ATTACKS
FMV: EXT ROOFTOP OF THE ARCHITECTURE BUILDING
The Ghostbusters and Ilyssa stare over the edge of the building. The player dangles below.
PLAYER'S POV: Stay Puft smashes into the building with his fists, King Kong-like. Further below, the streets of Manhattan are in CHAOS.
PETER (O.S.): (from above) He appears to be after something specific.
Stay Puft roars and then continues to climb.
RAY (O.S.): (from above) Or someone.
ILYSSA (O.S.): (from above) Why are you looking at me?
PETER (O.S.): (from above) We'll talk about his later... maybe over a nice dinner... but right now our new employee is in a bit of trouble.
PETER (O.S.): (from above) (calling to player) Kick your thrower to maxi-stream and roast him, kid. We're right behind you... literally.
Stay Puft ROARS as he clambers up the building, the noise thundering through the city.

Sneak Into the Museum (unproduced)#
The reason why this cutscene was not produced is most likely due to missing lines from Bill Murray for Peter Venkman. Below is the script page for the cutscene.
FMV: CUT SCENE 17 - SNEAK INTO THE MUSEUM
EXT. THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY - NIGHT - ESTABLISHING
Lights dance across a huge banner hunf over the doors of the Museum. The banner reads: "THE ANCIENT WORLD OF GOZER - PROUDLY PRESENTED BY THE SHANDOR FOUNDATION"
A crowd of INVITED GUESTS is waiting out front. Flashbulbs pop as the rich and famous of the city enter the Museum.
RAY (O.S.): (radio) Venkman, are you in?
PETER (O.S.): Almost. We're still basking in the glare of the paparazzi and the read carpet treatment. How 'bout you guys?

The Ghostbusters Appear at the Parade (lost)#
This was an FMV cutscene produced for the deleted Thanksgiving Day Parade level. Snippets of the scene are shown in the trailer and the FH05_scene. cutscene. Below are the script and dialogue.
FMV: CUT SCENE 20 - GHOSTBUSTERS APPEAR AT THE PARADE (NON-INTERACTIVE CINEMATIC)
EXT. THE NEW YORK CITY STREET
The Ghostbusters stagger out of the tunnel hatch, blinded by daylight. As the image settles and becomes clear, they see that they've come up in a New York City street.
The sound of marching bands warming up fills the air. People mill about, giant balloons drift overhead, and floats are strewn everywhere.
PETER: Ghostworld is much more festive than you guys described.
RAY: Peter! It's the Thanksgiving Day Parade! I completely forgot what day it was!
Peter looks at Egon.
PETER: 'We crossed over... or not?
RAY: Or we did and then crossed back.
Egon shrugs.
PETER: That shrug I can see.
EGON: Looks like the parade is stopped.
The police have cordoned off a section of the street. A giant pool of slime has gathered beneath a monstrous DOG BALLOON, BLINKERS THE SCIENCE PUP. The balloon looks old an weary, with patches keeping it intact.
RAY: There's our pool of black slime.
Egon approaches.
PETER: (to the crowd) Don't touch the slime... it's extremely dangerous!
Ray recognizes the balloon dog immediately.
RAY: (excited) It's Blinkers the Science Pup! When I was a kid he was my favorite! I learned a lot of my science from Blinkers.
PETER: I don't like the looks of him.
RAY: Yeah, you're not the only one. This is his last year in the parade. They're retiring him. Kids just don't connect with him anymore. I still have all his shows on Beta.
PETER: (consoling) Yeah, well, listen Ray; kids are cruel. And they like Japanese robots. If Blinkers there could turn into something else, he'd be right back on top again.
EGON: I think Venkman has reason to be concerned, Ray. I'm getting the same volume in PKE spikes we had at the Museum.
In the background, we see the slime oozing upward into Blinkers. The sagging balloon comes to life, transforming from a dopey pup to a demonic monster in seconds.
He lets out a tremendous ROAR!
PETER: Now I didn't see that coming. But I probably should have.
Blinkers goes off, destruction in his wake.
