beatmania IIDX 4th style beatmania IIDX 4th style became notable for marking the series debuts of composers Kosuke Saito (kors k) and Ryutaro Nakahara (Ryu*), after winning a musicianship trial prior to the release of the game, with their songs Clione and starmine, respectively; they would later become regular contributors to Konami's rhythm games. It also introduced the Easy modifier and Free Mode, as well as continued the previous game's shift in artistic and musical direction.

Amidst SEL16.MGP lie several unused title and genre graphics:
Titles#
0x2BAC0 / 0x2C2E0
This graphic reflects the song dong-tepo no.1 's appearance in beatstage II 2nd style, the Korean release of beatmania IIDX 2nd style, in which it was renamed to "rocket factory". However, 4th style was not released there.
0x3F600
This graphic refers to the song TAKE ON ME. While it appears in the previous game, it was removed from this one.
0x61820
An earlier graphic for the song GET ON BEAT (WILD STYLE), under the earlier title of "GET ON BEAT REMIX".
In addition to these graphics, the songs CHECKING YOU OUT, CONGA, and Under Construction have duplicate title graphics in this file.
Genres#
0x5ABC0
A label for the genre "BREAK BEATS", which no song in 4th style has.
0x5DDE0
A label for the genre "DISCO HOUSE". While no song in 4th style has it, morning prayer, which was featured in the previous game, had.
Title Cards#
dong-tepo no.1 also received a new title card with its Korean title in its overlay data, DONTEP.MGP. While the styling of the borders is based on 3rd style 's interface, this specific graphic is not present in that game's data.
Likewise, Odoru! Fukujinzuke (CALCUTTA) kept its beatstage II 2nd style title card in CULCUT.MGP.
How to Play Screen#
DEMO256.MGP, which contains the graphical assets for the How to Play screen, has English variations of the text sprites from 0x2C180, though they're never displayed. These can also be found in the previous game.
The assembled text is as follows:

Game Over Screen#
Starting from 0x44240 of GOVER16.MGP are leftover graphics from a teaser screen, possibly displayed during a location test prototype. "Taka" is composer Takayuki Ishikawa (dj TAKA), who was also one of this game's sound directors.

Furthermore, from 0x6C380 are leftover graphics from the game over screen used in the previous four games. Its palette was not retained, however.
2nd style Leftovers#
The graphics below are leftovers from beatmania IIDX 2nd style, and can also be found unused in the previous game.
SCRL16.MGP would have been displayed in the attract sequence if the machine was connected to Dance Dance Revolution 2ndMIX.
SBPRAC.MGP, SBEASY.MGP, SBNORM.MGP, and SBCLUB.MGP are background graphics for the 4 Keys, 5 Keys, 7 Keys, and Expert modes. However, compared to the previous game, their palettes are no longer present.
Furthermore, the first image in DEMO256.MGP contains a tile from the How to Play screen seen in previous games.

Unused Text#
Starting from 0xEEC of FIREBEAT.EXE are a list of strings which are used for the game's song titles, which are displayed both in-game, and on the dot matrix display below the screen. However, the first two entries on this list appear to be placeholders, and are as follows:
BD:ueno3
BD
"ueno" here could refer to commissioned artist Keiichi Ueno, who has two new songs in this game (Mr.T.(take me higher) and Nasty!), but not a third.

Burn Date#
The volume title of the game's disc image contains a burn date:
