This is a sub-page of Proto:Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver/2009.

March 6, 2009

To do:

  • Comparison images and list differences
  • More information

New Bark Town#

To do:
Check if any previous prototypes have Marill

Lyra's Teddiursa has been replaced with Marill.

To do:

  • More differences between the versions (needs a lot more info)
  • Comparison images

March 27, 2009

Violet City#

To do:
More info, and check if these changes were made before this build.

The location of the Togepi egg has been moved to the PokéMart. Instead of Professor Elm (previous builds), his assistant (who uses the Team Galactic Grunt sprite as a placeholder) gives the player the egg, like in the final game. The Kimono Girl also talks to the player after leaving the PokéMart. The player can also now progress past the first gym, as the trainer stopping the player no longer does after getting the badge.

To do:
Most of the screens aren't actually documented here

Pokédex Screen#

Trainer Card Screen#

Pokémon Summary Screen#

To do:
Check for changes that were made in previous builds, and more documentation on eggs. Also, it might be good to make the writing here more clear if possible

The summary screen appears to be a lot more finalized when compared to previous builds. However, when an egg is selected, there still appears to be bugs. In this prototype, the player can swap between ribbons and the stats screen for eggs, and Pokémon stats show for eggs on the stats screen's bottom screen. When the egg is selected first or screens are switched when the egg is selected, the bottom screen is also bugged (this can be fixed by going to a Pokémon, and then swapping between screens)

Saving Screen#

Bag Screen#

To do:
Test Ethan and Lyra and check for changes made in previous builds. Also, maybe clarify what is said here

The bag screen appears to look the same on the bottom screen as previous builds, but the top screen has a placeholder model that changes when the player goes in between menu categories (labeled with numbers in the prototype), like in the final game.

Pokégear#

Evolution Screen#

To do:
Needs documentation on both the evolution screen and egg hatching screen

Music#

Title Screen#

To do:
Document differences and see if there are any other ones (the December 24, 2008 build onward seems to be HG and not SoulSilver anymore too).

March 24, 2009 - March 29, 2009

March 30, 2009 (Final)

The title screen theme has a small intro section that wasn't present in earlier builds. It would eventually be cut out from the final version.
