This is a sub-page of Proto:Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver/2007.

March 12, 2007 (r2)

An incredibly early build of both games, which at this point are still mostly Diamond and Pearl with new title screens.

To do:

  • Video of Palkia
  • Datamine for other possible content.
  • Anything interesting outside the Player's house
  • Violet City music (CITY01-D-Violet City likely) seems to play in Jubilife City (can be seen through debug features). Check if the theme is any different from Jan 31, 2008
  • There seems to be more than one prototype created for this day (r2 and r3): Please see what is different about them.
  • Check if the Following Pokémon are identical or identical to later builds.
  • Document gyms (they seem to be slightly different too): https://tcrf.net/User:MediansSC/Sandbox/2007_March_(gym_desc)
  • Document Debug Menu

Diamond

  • The intro is identical to Diamond and Pearl's until the end, where the camera zooms out on Lugia (Diamond Rom) and Palkia (Pearl Rom).
  • Lugia's title screen model is animated but unfinished, as its mouth and eyes are bright red.
  • Diamond has Ho-oh's camera movement (or is very similar to it)
  • Palkia's model jitters in place with the glow effect from Pearl.
  • The start-up sound is the the same as in Diamond and Pearl.

Lucas

Dawn

  • Lucas and Dawn have yet to be replaced in any capacity.
  • Following Pokémon have been implemented.
  • The entire Sinnoh region is intact, except with a few differences:
    • All of the Wild Pokémon encounters are still intact, but encounters have been disabled.
    • All of the NPCs are gone.
    • Objects like Cut trees and moveable Strength boulders are removed.
    • No warps or doors can be used outside of the debug menu, meaning the player cannot leave their room or enter any buildings.

Music#

The entire soundtrack from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are present, except with the following new music.

Placeholder#

SEQ_D_UNKNOWN and SEQ_POKEPARK are each a piano C scale.

Title Screen#

This Prototype

Final

A completely different theme, uses Diamond and Pearl instruments for now.

Azalea Town#

Prototype

Prototype (Night)

Final

|

|

Named SEQ_CITY01_N, a work in progress with Diamond and Pearl instruments. Also included is an early nighttime variant called SEQ_CITY01_N which is axed later on. This seems to replace the Jubilife City music.

Route 26#

To do:
Document which routes had their music replaced

Prototype

Final

Uses Diamond and Pearl instruments. This seems to replace the music in some routes.

Violet City#

To do:
Document more because sometimes it seems to play Azalea instead (probably at different times or something)

Violet City music seems to play in Jubilife City, which can be seen through the prototype's debug features.

March 20, 2007 (r4)

To do:
See if these builds have anything different (there's also another build on the 12th [r3], as well as builds on the 27th [r8] and the 28th [r11]) Also, check more of the sprites for differences

The National Dex is accessible. The sprites seem to be sourced from Diamond and Pearl.

March 26, 2007 (r7)

The default following Pokémon was seemingly changed from Ho-Oh to Shaymin.
