Davinci's Hideout#

Starting Levels#

Da Vinci Introduction#

Watch on YouTubeThe introduction cutscene for this build; it features Sackboy being trapped inside the "Sucker", this build's version of the Negativatron. Sackboy is rescued by a giant claw at the end of the cutscene and it links to the next level.

Da Vinci Introduction b#

Watch on YouTubeContinuing from the last cutscene, this level introduces Davinci, where he explains the current situation. It ends with you being given a pod to navigate the levels with.

Da Vinci Towers#

Watch on YouTubeThe Tutorial level for Davinci's Hideout in this build; you're introduced to the basic mechanics.

Get a Grip Too#

Watch on YouTubeThis level is an early version of Rookie Test from the retail game, which was split into two parts. At the end of the level, the first Collectabubble, a "Rookie Star" is awarded, which unlocks 3 of the next levels.

Tier 1 Levels#

The following levels need you to have at least 1 Rookie Star Collectabubble to play.

Swing Tower#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped level featuring multiple towers that you need to climb. The cannon section from this level was moved into Bravery Test for the retail game.

Hedge Hopper#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of Hedge Hopper from the retail game; as opposed to an endless minigame like the final, it's a limited bouncing section with Collectabubbles scattered in it.

The Assault Course#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped race level, featuring bounce pads and Collectabubbles. Leftover data remains in the build for a developer's high score.

Tier 2 Levels#

The following levels need you to have at least 6 Rookie Star Collectabubbles to play.

In and Out#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of Bravery Test, which has a very different layout on the right side compared to the final. Notably, there is no tower cannon that shoots you between towers in this version.

Gripple Grapple#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of Gripple Grapple from the retail game. Not much was changed, besides bubbles.

Tower Of Woop#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of LittleBigPlanet 2's famous Tower Of Whoop level. Not much was changed in the retail version besides the additions of prize bubbles.

Boss Level#

The Boss level requires you to have at least 12 Rookie Star Collectabubbles to play.

Da Vinci Boss#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of the Final Test boss level from the final game; very little was changed for the retail version.

Victoria's Laboratory#

Starting Levels#

Victoria Introduction#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of Victoria's Laboratory's opening cutscene. Curiously, Sackboy is represented with just a simple cardboard cutout here.

The Training Train#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of the Runaway Train level. It introduces the "Power Gloves", an early version of the Grabbinators. They use the LBP1's Paintinator's from the MGS pack's model as a placeholder on the pedestal, but have a unique model in gameplay.

Tier 1 Levels#

The following levels need you to have at least 1 Collectabubble to play.

Fiendish Fiends#

Watch on YouTubePresumably an early version of Brainy Cakes, this level includes Sackboy using the Power gloves to kill various monsters. Almost all are placeholder-y, using only the Basic Wood material. Also contains a race gate activated by a Sticker Sensor.

The Garden of Intricate Puzzles#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped level that is pretty similar to Fiendish Fiends, with more Power Gloves, placeholder monster killing action.

Brain Damage#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped level that is again pretty similar to the previous ones with a few new mechanics but set inside the lab this time. Perhaps the repetitive nature of these levels lead to them being cut.

Transforming Mansion#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped level using the Grappling Hook, it features various moving obstacles and things popping in and out of layers.

Current Affairs#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of the final level Currant Affairs. It features some different gameplay sections, and visual differences, but is fairly similar to the final.

Shock And Awe#

Watch on YouTubeA scrapped level intended to be a race, making use of the Grapple Hook, and the lethal electricity used in Current Affairs.

Boss Level#

The Boss level requires you to have at least 12 Collectabubbles to play.

The Cake Against The Machine#

Watch on YouTubeAn early version of Kling Klong, which is largely unchanged from the final, aside visual differences.
