Version 2.0 Beta

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This is a sub-page of Proto:Genshin Impact.

This game is defunct.
Do note the game no longer works at all without modifications. This is most likely due to the game's servers being shut down. As a result, further official developments with the game are unlikely to happen.

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Specifically: Comparison screenshots would be nice.

The three earliest revisions of the Version 2.0 Beta for Genshin Impact hide partially completed Inazuma islands that would later be released in v2.1 and v2.2, in addition to earlier UI assets for the new characters that would appear in v2.0. It's possible to play this Beta today using a server emulator such as HuTao-GS, or by using version 2.0's leaked server binaries.

This page will primarily focus on versions 1.6.50 - 1.6.52.

Unfinished Islands#

Seirai, Tsurumi and Watatsumi Island are unexpectedly quite developed already, despite not becoming officially available until the two following versions. Beginning in v1.6.53, these islands would be replaced with generic terrain. No entities have been added to these islands yet, though the islands' layouts are almost fully in place.

Access#

As one may predict, these islands are behind the Limit Region (colloquially referred to as the "Paimon Barrier"), and cannot be accessed through normal means. Typically, the Global Limit Region (the entire Paimon Barrier for the open world) can be disabled by sending the GMtalk command openstate 48 1, however, this command has no effect on its own in v1.6.50 - v1.6.52.

The easiest way to fix this is to copy the file \StreamingAssets\AssetBundles\blocks\00\25539185.blk from v1.6.53 or v1.6.54. Doing this will re-enable the condition that allows openstate 48 1 to function.

For convenience, a patch for this file for v1.6.50 - v1.6.52 can be downloaded below. GMtalk commands for teleporting to the islands will also be provided in their respective sections.

Seirai Island#

GMtalk teleport command: goto -4437 218 -4030

Probably the most complete of the three islands.

  • In general, most lanterns/street lamps have an error texture saying "Missing Prefab" on them. This applies to all three islands.
  • Asase shrine has a placeholder Tanuki statue in place of Neko. There is also a placeholder for the large cat statue next to the tree hollow.
    • There is a submerged bridge that leads to Asase Shrine that is absent from the current version. This was replaced with a few logs instead.
  • The back half of the Seraimaru ship is missing, leaving a crevice in its place. It's still possible to go underground and find the other half of the ship, though.
    • A Shrine of Depths is next to the ship, but it was moved to be above ground upon release.

Tsurumi Island#

GMtalk teleport command: goto -6040 209 -3256

The least complete of the three islands. It actually can't be traversed to normally because it's outside the range that the server normally allows the player to explore. If sailing there with the Waverider, you'll immediately be teleported back to the last valid coordinates when you exit it.

To explore it on foot, replace the server data for the file data\lua\scene\3\scene3.lua to contain the following at the top:

-- 地图配置
scene_config = {
    begin_pos = { x = -8192.0, z = -8192.0 },
    size = { x = 14336.0, z = 13312.0 },
    born_pos = { x = 2747.562, y = 194.633, z = -1719.386 },
    born_rot = { x = 0.000, y = 307.000, z = 0.000 },
    die_y = 0
}
  • While the layout is there, just about every area is unrefined.
  • Simple placeholder models are used for the Thunderbird statues, shrines and perches.
  • Details such as spiderwebs, pots and ambient lighting are missing. Grass is also absent from several areas.
  • The inside of Mt. Kanna is barely developed, appearing very empty.
    • The placeholder statue is on a hill instead of the lower ground. It's also possible to get under the hill to find two spheres with a tree texture.
  • The Golden Wolflord arena is very simple at this point, with some of the stone structures floating off the ground. The arena itself is concave instead of flat.
  • Many ghosts can be found around Chirai Shrine as atmospheric elements. They fade into smaller spirits when approached.
    • One of the corners in the lower part of Chirai Shrine has a slice of water you can swim in.
  • While the underground areas have been laid out, they are modeled basically and are missing crucial details, including the murals.
    • It's possible to see the underground areas from above the water.
    • The underground areas have several unfilled sections where you can escape and walk underwater. This also lets you explore these areas from their exterior, offering an interesting look at their architecture and the surrounding terrain.
  • Some areas have gaps between them.

Watatsumi Island#

GMtalk teleport command: goto -3812 166 -751

  • The bubbles and jellyfish that float within the environment are instead green particles of some sort.
  • Sangonomiya Shrine is roughly modeled.
  • Mouun Shrine is roughly modeled and has a sphere inside the building.
  • Kokomi's secret hideout is only furnished with a book and some boxes, and has a grassy ground.
  • The farmland in Borou Village is less detailed.
  • The cave where the Hydro Hypostasis would be placed has much brighter scenery overall. It is also missing the water caustics reflecting onto the walls.
  • The Suigetsu Pool has barely been started. In its ruins, a huge chunk of the ground is missing, leading to an empty area underground that was allocated for v2.1.

Characters#

This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Check icons for Sayu and Yoimiya. Also check for any other gameplay changes.

Kamisato Ayaka#

Some of Ayaka's UI icons are different. Also, when emerging from her sprint, it still plays the same sound effect from her appearance in the old Closed Beta versions.

The order of the icons below are based on the current release and are compared against each other based on their original filenames.

Unused Graphics#

For some reason, each version of the v2.0 Beta includes an unfinished map of the Golden Apple Archipelago from in its files, appearing as an overhead view of the entire area's terrain.
