This is a sub-page of Proto:Daikatana (Windows)/MPlayer Demo.
Weapons#
Almost all of the Episode 1 weapons are in the game, but all of them have a few changes.
Disruptor Glove#
The Disruptor glove behaves the same as the final's, but it lacks both the glow it makes when it hits something, the decal it leaves after it hits a wall, and the uppercut animation.
Ion Cannon#
It uses the final's model, but it has a different texture and fires different-looking projectiles.
Perhaps the most important change is that shots from the Ion that are reflected back at you do not hurt you. This makes it much easier to use.

C4 Vizatergo#
The C4 Vizatergo has a model very similar to the final's, but it lacks the switch used for when the player manually detonates the C4 bombs.
There are two differences between the MPlayer Demo and final C4 bombs. In the MPlayer Demo, bombs placed close to each other will not self-destruct, while they will in the final. The MPlayer Demo bombs also lack the final's flashing light when somebody gets close to them, but they still beep.
In the MPlayer Demo, the player can hold eight C4 packs, but can hold 20 in the final. The original ammo limit was probably set up to discourage spamming it in MP.
There is a glitch regarding the C4 and weapon switching; if the player runs out of ammo and still has a C4 bomb on the ground, it will be impossible to take out the C4, which is needed to manually detonate C4 bombs.
Two modified C4 Vizatergo models can be found hidden in the model files. It seems they were different shapes for the C4 Vizatergo for testing. The second one can be seen in Stevie Case's Daiakatana DM guide that was released right before the demo came out, showing that it was in the game at one time.
Inside the texture files is an earlier version of the MPlayer Demo's C4 skin that is lighter and has a hand texture on the lower left-hand corner. Apparently, at one time, each weapon texture would have their own version of the hand texture instead of drawing from a separate file that all the weapon model hands do, like the MPlayer Demo and the final version do.

Shotcycler#
The Shotcycler has a much darker skin when compared to the final's. In addition, it has a faster rate of fire than the final's.
There are several unused Shotcycler skins found in the .pak file. These look like they were for testing various skins for the Shotcycler. One of them has the final's barrel.
If the player has an Attack powerup with the Shotcycler, the Shotcycler will be able to fire in full-auto without having to reload. This glitch was removed in the final.
There is an unused Shotcycler texture that looks a lot like the pre-alpha's Shotcycler. It seems the old Shotcycler was revised to use the final's art style before being scrapped.

Sidewinder#
The Sidewinder has different colored rockets and sounds, but is otherwise the same as the final's.
There is an earlier Sidewinder rocket texture buried in the texture files. It has a red warhead and is much thinner when compared to the MPlayer Demo and final versions, suggesting that it was leftover from an earlier version of the Sidewinder.

Shockwave Cannon#
A model for the Shockwave exists, but there is no way to use it in the demo. It is the same as the final's.
Disruptor#
The view model for the unused “Disruptor” weapon can be found in the model files, but it has no texture.
Slugger#
An untextured Slugger grenade can be found in the model files. It's very likely to be a leftover that was accidentally added when DM Demo was compiled.
