Yo-kai Watch 4

Unused Graphics#

To do:
Looooooooads of unused character portraits....

Yo-kai Tribes#

Though only Baku, Jibanyan (which both have the Charming Tribe) and Hidabat (who has the Shady Tribe) can be recruited during the first chapter before the Present Yo-kai Tribes switch to the Shadowside Yo-kai Tribes in Chapter 3, when Nate is playable again, icons exist for the other six tribes too! Oddly, the Wicked, Enma or Wandroid Tribes aren't present in this graphic file.

Xbox and PC Controller Buttons#

There are some unused PC and Xbox One controller button graphics, despite the game not being announced for a release on either of those systems. As the game uses the same graphic motor as Ni no Kuni II these are likely leftovers.

Ni no Kuni II Leftovers#

Found in the same folders as the above.

Unused Characters#

Yokanet_npc_shop_01.000#

There exists an unused bust shot of an NPC character. The filename suggests that you may have been able to manually shop from Yoka Net, rather than Hailey purchasing battle items from Yoka Net for you.

x23010000#

There are unused textures for Yamata no Orochi, who previously appeared in Yo-kai Watch the Movie: Forever Friends. It's possible that he could have been planned to appear during the adaptation of Forever Friends in the main plot.

x25010000#

A scrapped Yo-kai boss named Hyakumenki (百面鬼/ひゃくめんき) of the Oni Tribe, It is unknown at what point in the game it was intended to be used.

x25020000#

There is also a scrapped Yo-kai named Momoko (百子/ももこ), according to her Yo-kai Ark. Internally, her name and sprites are stored right after the boss Yo-kai, so they're probably related.

y02781000#

There are unused textures for McKraken's final form from Yo-kai Watch 1. Based on the naming convention and other factors, it's possible that it was planned to unlock this form via Equipment or by having it innately with McKraken's base form as a Transformation.

Unused Audio#

To do:
Unused slightly shorter Mitsumata Mark Jingle? (bgm#230) Maybe it's used in a cutscene.

Unused Music#

bg3503#

Usapyon's Invader Mode theme, from Yo-kai Watch Blasters and Yo-kai Watch 3. The filename ordering implies that it was going to be used in a cutscene, but Usapyon never goes into Invader Mode outside of battle, rendering this theme unused.

Unused Jingles#

j0002#

The jingle for picking up an ordinary item from the previous Yo-kai Watch games. Items picked up on the ground are displayed on the top-left screen without any jingle used. It's not even used when opening Treasure Boxes or for getting ordinary Crank-a-kai prizes.

j0003#

An unused victory jingle, originally used in prerelease footage. Unlike the used jingle, it has no outro intended to play in the results screen, where it was skipped in prerelease footage of it.

j0018#

The Rocket Completion Fanfare from the Yo-kai Watch anime and Yo-kai Watch 3, likely intended to play in a Hailey and Usapyon Quest.

Unused Geometry#

Outer Uptown Springdale Areas#

The collision for the roads leading to Blossom Heights, Downtown Springdale, and Breezy Hills can be walked on, leftover from the previous Yo-kai Watch games.

If one goes southwest further out of bounds in the district, one can find some unused geometry placed near what appears to be Shopper's Row, facing the railroad tracks leading to Downtown Springdale. It may have been there to test the low-poly draw distance.

Unused Items#

To do:
Add the rest.

Some new unused items were added in v2.2.0, which was likely intended for link with Waiwai Gakuen Seikatsu.
