Unused Models

This is a sub-page of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).

Thief#

The Thief

Their Bag

Test_cht_thief01.xno and test_cht_thiefbag01.xno contains an unused model of a thief and their handbag. They were intended to appear in two town missions, in which Sonic or Shadow would have to quickly chase and defeat them within a given time limit.

Samuel L. Jackson#

There's an unused model that looks very similar to the famous actor Samuel L. Jackson as he appeared in the film Pulp Fiction in test_cht_agent01.xno. The resemblance is not a coincidence either, as one of the names assigned for this NPC is "Samuel". It seems based on the filename that this was supposed to be the NPC to give agent-focused town missions for Shadow.

Sonic Man's Face#

Sonic Man actually has a fully modeled face underneath his helmet, which is never seen normally.

Eggcard#

eve_obj_eggcard.xno has a model of the "Eggcard", which also only appears in a prerendered scene.

Homing Smash Bracelet#

The "Homing Smash" ability was originally intended to be a bracelet upgrade like the Bound Attack, rather than being attached to the White Gem. The model for it still exists in so_itm_sbungle_R.xno.

Notice Board#

twn_obj_notice.xno contains a wooded notice board, which was likely intended to be placed near loading zones when entering into different hub worlds.

Rock#

twn_obj_rock.xno unsurprisingly contains a large brown-ish rock. It was originally intended for the Sonic's Mach Speed sections in Radical Train as hazards.

Damaged Snowball#

Snowballs in White Acropolis were meant to have damaged variants, which can be found in twn_obj_havoksnowb.xno

Damaged Billiard Ball#

twn_obj_ball_brk.xno also has a damage variant of the billiard ball, which was likely meant to happen when their countdown reaches down to zero.

Lamp#

The lamp that's only seen in the opening CGI actually has an unused in-game model, found in twn_obj_a1lampB_.xno.

Red Light#

aqa_obj_lamp.xno has a small red light, intended to appear in Aquatic Base when the lights begins to flash red.

Sandbag#

Small sandbags were meant to appear in Radical Train, as they can be found in rct_obj_sandbag.xno.

Lever#

An unused lever in rct_obj_switch.xno. It was meant to be used in Radical Train instead of the common switches. Its existence even seems to be alluded to in some of the unused hints.

Pipes#

csc_obj_pipes.xno contains a large group of pipes for Crisis City, with their intended purpose being unknown.

Trailer Truck#

csc_obj_trailer.xno features a large green trailer truck, meant to appear during Sonic's Mach Speed section in Crisis City.

Broken Train#

The train during Sonic's Mach Speed section for Radical Train was originally intended to have broken variants instead of just exploding, which can be seen in rct_obj_EtrainB_brk4.xno.

Stone Pillar#

A unique stone pillar in test_kdv_obj_D_piller.xno, which was meant to be stage hazards for Sonic's Mach Speed section in Kingdom Valley.

Cage Door#

cage.xno contains a caged door. What its intended purpose is currently unknown.

Early Kingdom Valley Door#

Curiously, there's an early version for the doors in Kingdom Valley with a very different design. Which of course, can be seen in kvz_gate.xno.

Red Furniture#

Red Table

Red Chair

twn_obj_tableB.xno and twn_chair_c.xno has red furniture for the hub worlds, which never gets used for some reason. Oddly enough, they would end up being used in Sonic Unleashed.

Jump Panels#

jumpboard is a Jump Panel nearly identical in design to the one used in Sonic Unleashed onwards; the Jump Panel used in the final game, jumppanel, reuses the design from Sonic Heroes. Unlike the normal Jump Panel, which launches you at a set speed, this launches you at variable speeds depending on the speed you run into it, just like in Unleashed. Although it's not seen normally, it is placed out of bounds in Silver's Radical Train.

An unused Jump Panel variant that curves up rather than going straight. It functions identically to jumppanel.

Domino#

twn_obj_domino.xno has a model of a black domino. It was intended be used for two town missions involving Silver, before ending up being scrapped.
