Unused Graphics#
Homie Contact Icons#
Icons for the Ambulance and Taxi Homie contact services, likely intended to return from Saints Row 2. They were likely removed for not serving much use.
Vehicle Logos#
An unused, yet updated logo of the Five-O. It was likely intended to return alongside the Peacemaker, but the latter vehicle itself is internally referred to as the "Five-O" within the files.
An old favorite from the original Saints Row. A similar-looking vehicle in Saints Row IV exists as the Peacemaker.
Hidden Date#
Hidden within dynamic_tod is an internal time and date feature. The game automatically "starts" on April 17, 2004 and time passes from that point on. Judging from the date, it is likely an old leftover from the development of Saints Row as it had been in development since that time.
Cut Player Voice#
|
|
To do: |
The game has seven usable voices for the Protagonist: three male (White American, Afro-American and British), three female (American, Russian, Hispanic), and a zombie. However, cut from the game was an entirely Auto-Tuned voice. This idea was instead used for the NPC Zimos.
Unused Suits#
A few unused suits can be found within the game's code and are fully accessible through a glitch involving the Saints Row IV Inauguration Station Demo and the online outfit service (Which is no longer available) These suits include a Hazmat Suit, a Nyte Blade outfit, and a fire-fighter suit. These suits were rumored to be part of a DLC pack, but were shelved at the end of the game's lifespan.
Oddities#
Time of Day Glitch#
Using a trainer to set the internal "time" to 0:00 will disable the shadows on all places.
Development Oversights#
Invisible Object#
During Three Way where you choose the Kill Killbane option, sometimes during the QTE section where you slam Killbane's head, the object (which is supposed to be the car hood that the player slams Killbane on) is actually invisible.
This is still present in the remaster.
Zombie Gat's Icon Inconsistency#
When you call Zombie Gat as a homie, his icon will show up as his normal non-zombfied self.
This was fixed in the remaster.

Killbane Cutscene Inconsistency#
During During Three Way where you pick a choice to either save Saundi or kill Killbane, the cutscene before it will show Killbane masked, regardless if he was unmasked.
This is still present in the remaster.
CheapyD Homie Model#
CheapyD's homie model is incomplete in some areas, notably his mouth doesn't have the top teeth aligned properly for his angry facial expression, however his other facial expressions have his teeth aligned correctly.
Regional Differences#
Japanese Version Changes#
- The infamous Penetrator weapon, or dildo bat, was changed between the Japanese and international release of the game. Whilst retaining the same physics as the international version, most of its "detail" has been removed, meaning it is now just a floppy baseball bat, along with the name being changed to the "Suspicious Bat" (怪しいバット). The model, icons and unlock screen artwork was even changed for it.

- In the cutscene where Oleg was being freed from the Syn Tower, he was originally naked but he now wears his default clothing in the Japanese version. However, the dialogue referencing to him being naked was untouched, even though it received a different translation in the Japanese subtitles.

The last time a big naked dude said he could help me, it did not end well. |

Are you alright? |
You want some clothes, man? |

だから デカイ男は苦手なんだよな… |

Man, like I said, the last time a big naked dude... |
German Version Changes#
Just like the previous game, the German version disables the player from using non‑gang members or the police as human shields, as well as removing money rewards from killing pedestrians. In addition, killing pedestrians warns the police a lot quicker than in other versions of the game.
German players of the game can also only play with other German players (or anyone who owns the German copy of the game).
Revisional Differences#
???#
There used to be an online DLC which you needed to play multiplayer, upload characters to the (now dead) Saints Row site, and take screenshots. It costs $8.00 or 800 points. The GOG and Steam version already had multiplayer allowed.
