Unused Cues

This is a sub-page of Rhythm Heaven Megamix.

To do:
Tons of leftovers from previous games (including Fever's 2-Player mode) as well as new unused cues. Here are some that I know of:

  • 0.25 beat claps in The Clappy Trio
  • Love Rap 2 leftovers
  • Power Calligraphy swung cues
  • Launch Party has a ton of commands related to 2 player mode (Z-axis movement, clockwise hover)
  • Rhythm Tweezers 32nd and 16th note hairs
  • Unused Kitties! Alt poses
  • Bouncy Road 2 leftovers
  • Dazzles 2 leftovers
  • Unused Shoot-'em-Up enemy positions and 8 beat long enemies.
  • Micro-Row unused bubble shapes are callable
  • Coin Toss + Flipper Flop drum pattern subs

There might be several more than this that I have not documented yet. Of course, footage when necessary.

Rhythm Heaven Megamix has many leftover cues from sequels or remixes that were cut from/are not in the game, as well as unused cues that are exclusive to this game.

General#

Several games past Earth World (mostly Fever games) have uninitialized Rhythm Help Displays in the code that are fully functional. Additionally, Karate Man Kicks! contains a command to set the layout of the RHD, but no inputs are set. It would've used a layout with 2 rows. Big Rock Finish has a unique 3 row layout that no other game uses.

Sneaky Spirits#

Sneaky Spirits contains a few leftover patterns from the first game's − more difficult − sequel: Sneaky Spirits 2. In addition to those, there is a completely unused pattern where the ghost doesn't go over the wall at all.

Rhythm Tweezers#

Rhythm Tweezers has unused subroutines and commands to call the cover from Rhythm Tengoku's Remix 8. This video shows three different versions of the cover. The full cover is a leftover from Remix 8, while the ones that cover only the left and right sides of the vegetable are unique to this game, though Rhythm Heaven Groove would reuse the idea over 10 years later.

Karate Man#

Karate Man has many leftover and unused cues.

Unused Cues#

Fillbots#

Fillbots 2 from Rhythm Heaven also has its leftovers, like ROBO-S (the small Fillbot) and the blackout − which is broken. Only the built-in subroutine for the blackout is broken though, as calling the blackout commands individually works fine. There are also subs for a few unused ROBO-M (medium Fillbot) variants that you fill for varying amounts of time.

Screwbot Factory#

Screwbot Factory has the spotlights for Screwbot Factory 2 from Rhythm Heaven Fever as leftovers, which are almost fully functioning. Some of them appear to be broken, however.

Board Meeting#

Returning from Fever, the strange animations of the Assistant going into the floor and coming back out with cups are back. It's unclear what they would've been used for.

Built to Scale#

Built to Scale contains a TON of unused patterns. While the first two in the video are leftovers from Rhythm Heaven Fever, everything else is seemingly new to this game. Rather curiously, some of these have the non-player paddles shooting the rods, something which can never happen in the real game.

Night Walk#

Night Walk has a 0x104 subroutine that does nothing. It's impossible to say what it would have been or could have done.

Power Calligraphy#

Power Calligraphy contains swing tempo cues for all symbols, even for ones that don't appear in Remix 4 GBA (which is the only time Power Calligraphy is used in swing tempo).

Quiz Show#

There are unused questions based off of the royalty free songs "Shave and a Haircut", "I'm a Little Teapot", "Pop Goes the Weasel", and one unused question that's a harder version of the default questions. Additionally, there is an option to add two extra button presses at the end of questions 4, 5, and 6, likely leftover from the endless game.

The Dazzles#

The Dazzles have unused cues for crouching all at once (both a version with and without voices). Likely scrapped for being wildly unfair.

Freeze Frame#

There are unused cues for the blue shirt man to arrive from the left, the white shirt man to arrive from the right, and for TJ Snapper's girlfriend to arrive from the right. Additionally, the singular yellow car meant to be used in the real game appears here and is also unused. This is likely a case of the developers overcompensating on cues and details.

Glee Club#

There is a variety of pitches for the Chorus Kids that go unused in this minigame. All the ones seen below are not used.

Sick Beats#

There is a scrapped virus type that is completely invisible, likely to disencourage from using visual cues.

Micro-Row#

As if being mentioned in the text for the game's debug menu and having an unused icon meant for it wasn't enough evidence to Fever's Micro-Row 2 being considered as a possible Micro-Row 3 in this game, the whistle from the double-step cue introduced in said rhythm game is leftover here too.

Additionally, the flower object that you likely saw from the unused graphics section can be called and functions perfectly.
