Unused Graphics#
My Singing Monsters#
Unused Island Skin Icons#
Unused icons exist for the seasonal island skins, which use an early icon design with early borders. Note that the Festival of Yay Skin uses an early design.

Golden Egg#
An image of a golden egg that can be found in the menu sprite sheet. This was confirmed to be an early version of Relics.
whatchawant_posed01#
An unused image of Whajje, which was likely used as a placeholder for the monster. The name of this image reveals that Whajje's codename is "whatchawant".
G'joob and Yawstrich Sprites#
The app had unused sprite sheets for the Mythical monsters G'joob and Yawstrich. When the app was last updated, these monsters hadn't yet been added to the mobile version of MSM, and as such were absent from the app.
Dark Shrubb Limbs#
Before Rare Shrubb released, Shrubb's back leg and arm were originally shaded to be darker. This was changed with Rare Shrubb likely to save space in Shrubb's sprite sheet. However, the Guide still has these sprites in its files, in full HD.
Full Bowgart Cello#
Before Rare Bowgart released, Bowgart's cello originally had the cello and strings combined into one sprite, but this was changed so that the strings could be used for the Rare's cello. These sprites still exist inside of the Guide, unused.
Unused T-Rox Foot#
An unused sprite meant for T-Rox's left foot exists. Normally T-Rox uses its right foot sprite for its left foot. This sprite was previously used in My Singing Monsters before the release of Rare T-Rox, where it was for some reason removed and replaced by its right foot sprite.
Early Rare PomPom Butterfly#
There is a sprite for Rare PomPom's butterfly called ACE_butterfly_RARE that goes unused. It is rotated a bit to the left.
Ghazt Backing Sprites#
In the now cancelled match 3 game Furcorn's Jelly Dreams, Ghazt had backing sprites for each of its body parts that when combined with additive blending on the normal sprite, gave the monster a unique look with a glowing white outline and a brighter purple. Those backing sprites ended up being included in the Official Guide's files.
Undistorted Wubbox Orb#
In Wubbox's sprite sheet there is a version of its orb that doesn't have a distortion effect put on it. For some reason this sprite is called "big_orb" possibly meaning the orb was originally smaller or there was a second orb that was smaller.
Wubbox Element Sigils#
For some reason there are sprites of the element sigils for air, earth, plant, water, and plasma in Wubbox's sprites. The purpose of these is unknown, but it's possible that the element sigils originally rotated around Wubbox or its orb or were stored inside the orb, with the element depending on the island (eg. plant for Plant Island, earth for Earth Island, plasma for Ethereal Island etc.) In the initial release of the Steam version of My Singing Monsters, a cold element sigil existed in Cold Island Wubbox's sprite sheet.
Early Maulch Mouth#
There is an early mouth sprite for Maulch named U19_jaw_over2 that depicts it as being green and having a purple mouth.
Early Fleechwurm Leaf#
U20_leaf8 is an early solid-colour version of a Fleechwurm leaf.
Dead Shrub#
An unused decoration or structure for MSM called shrub_dead. This may have been turned into the "Clarinedge" Colossingum decoration in MSM, as it's shaped similarly to the Dead Shrub.
Unused Wishing Torch Sprites#
There are sprites for the Wishing Torch fire effect and the designs of the Wishing Torches across other islands despite them never being seen lit and only the Plant Island design being viewable.
Dawn of Fire#
Monster Choir Green Pummel#
For some strange reason, an image of a green Pummel variant from the now discontinued Chinese and Korean versions of My Singing Monsters named Monster Choir by Yodo1 Games exists in the Dawn of Fire unity3d file under the name "default_portrait". Based on the name, it can be assumed that this was meant to be a placeholder image for monsters. Why this image in particular was chosen as a placeholder is unknown, though its existence could suggest the Guide was initially developed by Yodo1 before being passed onto Big Blue Bubble, with this being a remnant of that.

Oddities#
Early Dawn of Fire Item Sprites#
When the Official Guide first released, the Sugar Cane, Bamboo Flute, and Polar Teddybear items all mistakenly used early versions of their designs.

Early version of the Sugar Cane, which was likely changed due to it looking too similar to Bamboo.

Early version of the Bamboo Flute, which was based off a normal flute instead of a panflute.
There also exists an even earlier version of the Bamboo Flute which was never used in any version of the Guide. The sprite is very small and low quality.
