This page details one or more prototype versions of Touhou Kinjoukyou: Fossilized Wonders.
The game had its demo released on May 5, 2025 at Reitaisai 22, while the full version was released on August 17, 2025 at Comiket 106.
Unused Bullets' Unusual Hitboxes#
One of the bullets that went unused in the prototype, the music note, has a hitbox that is seemingly way off for actual gameplay and would probably kill an unsuspecting player unfairly. The arrow also has its hitbox placed on the back instead of on the front. Considering the pattern that the hitboxes follow, it is likely due to a transition from prior bullet data.

Bugs#
There a lot of things new with the overall base design of the game, and probably as a result of the transition to that, there are a lot more bugs now too.
Bomb#
If you bomb at the very end of a stage in between it changing on a new stage, your bomb will stay on the screen indefinitely. It will do damage for the currently active stage, but will not work on the stage after.

Stage Clear Rendering#
You can pause while the game announces that you cleared a stage, and doing so clears (get it?) the stats being shown. Unpausing makes the game render them again.

Music Return#
If you pause after the music faded away (preferably after skipping the dialogue by holding Z), then unpause and do it a few more times, the music comes back.

Crashes#
The game can crash inconsistently at random points of any section, with the crashes being the most visible in Stage 3.
If you're particularly unlucky, it can crash after booting up the game.
These crashes only happen in the trial version and were fixed in the full version of the game(?).
Wonder Stone Neutering#
Summoning a Wonder Stone right when you capture the spell makes the Wonder Stone (or Incident Enemy) gauge permanently empty, making Wonder Stones appear no more. This only happens in the trial version and was fixed in the full version of the game.
