This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

The co-op campaign can be accessed using either the matchmaking menu or the developer console.

Unlike the final game, this build does not automatically set maxplayers based on the map name when loading maps from the console, so maxplayers 2 must be run before loading co-op maps for them to work correctly. You can, however, play with up to 33 players online, or up to 4 players via splitscreen mode. A second player can join by using the connect command (this will require you to port forward if playing with someone on a different network); this build also does not automatically end the game if no partner is connected, so they can take as long as they like to do this.

mp_coop_mic_calibration#

A dedicated map for testing players' microphones which was cut from the final game. Each player spawns in their own room, with GLaDOS saying "Hello, subject Orange" and "Hello, subject Blue" as each player connects.

Both rooms are identical, featuring a screen playing a video matched to each player's color along with an observation room and various props. Next to this is intended to be a Half-Life 2 stoplight model which turns from red to green while each player is speaking. However, this model is absent from the build, so this effect cannot be seen unless HL2 content is manually mounted.

After the players are done calibrating their microphones, they need to press the buttons behind them twice. After they do, both players be sent to mp_coop_start.

This map starts you off in an edited version of the Relaxation Vault from the first game, edited to have two copies for each player.

mp_coop_doors#

An early version of mp_coop_doors seen in retail Portal 2. The puzzle appears to be the same, having one player step on the button, whilst allowing the other to go through.

Interestingly enough, mp_coop_doors seems to share similarities with the singleplayer campaign's first laser map; having similar brushwork indentation on the ceiling.
