This article is a work in progress. |

|
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. |
Still a few months from release, this build features plenty of temporary assets and cut content. The build is version 6 of Steam Depot 852, named ValveTestApp852.
Title Screen#
The title screen is very similar to that of the previous October build, with the only notable difference being an updated Portal 2 logo that now has a grey gradient wordmark and is slightly offset to the left. The title screen contains a prerendered video as the background, and menu options reminiscent of Left 4 Dead.

Co-op Campaign#
mp_box_test#
A seemingly empty map.
mp_futbol_01#
An arena with 4 futbol spawners and platforms. These platforms include ones that float up when you step on them. Has a map of the world on one side of the map, however on the other side just has a missing texture instead. Likely intended for a scrapped futbol gamemode where you play with other players with the futbol. Probably a left over map from previous builds, since previous builds had proper textures.
mp_coop_animation_test#
A relatively medium size map with launchers, a button to return to hub at the start, and some basic test chamber objects. Could likely be used to test animations of P-Body and Atlas.
Developer Maps#
fizzler_test#
A simple test for fizzlers, containing all cube types except the Frankenturret in the game, a sphere, and a turret that is unable to shoot bullets. It also has a small room in the back of the map, with 2 fizzlers to enter it and a electrical object in it. Near the front of the room is a bigger fizzler, with a small gap over it that you can throw the objects over without fizzling it. It also has a small observation room near the top right of the map.
ghostanim_wheatley#
A small map with GlaDOS, Wheatley, and a small metal object. In this room is also Atlas and P-Body laughing, but they are invisible and only visible when using wireframe.
styleguide_office_1980#
A map with a small office building likely used as a style guide for offices under Aperture Science.
wakeup_anim_test#
A copy of sp_a1_wakeup (GlaDOS's wakeup sequence) with a few changes. These changes include being able to drop Wheatley, Wheatley not having any voice lines, the hole for the elevator in GlaDOS's chamber already being open, the baked lighting being glitchy, the wakeup sequence not being able to start, and more.
Early Assets#
A crude drawing of a stick person using a contraption 4 times the size of themself to shoot portals. Telling from the name of the file, this was likely drawn on December 1st, 2010.
Cut Easter Egg#
At the start of the map sp_a4_jump_polarity, you can briefly see the aquarium core being crushed by falling debris, in the build compiled on the next day (December 2), the core was replaced by a Frankenturret.
