Regional Differences#
Repel and Undead#
In the Japanese version, the Repel (クンテ) and Undead (クーン) spells can only be cast once per battle with any chance of success. If you cast one of these spells a second time in the same battle, it always fails. This is the same way the equivalent spells work in the computer versions of Ultima III.
The US version removes the once-per-battle limit, allowing you to win any battle with orcs, goblins, skeletons, or ghouls just by casting these free spells over and over until they hit every enemy.
