To do: Add unused enemy-side battle portraits for Ludger, Level 2/3 Chromatus Julius, and Fractured Milla. Add unused live chats and their unused titles. Add unused red textures for Level 4 Chromatus Ludger. Add video of Ludger's unused spell-casting animation. Add sound files for the unused GHS ringtones. Add voice lines for the unused dialogue lines that have them.

Tales of Xillia 2 is the 13th main entry in the Tales series, and the sequel to Tales of Xillia.

Unused NPC Dialogue#

Although it is impossible to reach Trigleph Port in Chapter 1, all the NPCs there are programmed with dialogue. This text was translated into English and can be accessed by changing your Chapter 1 save's position.

Unused Story Dialogue#

Chapter 1#

When Victor and Elle are escaping Spirius agents in the first animated cutscene, there is an unused Japanese audio clip where Victor tells Elle to promise him she'll go to the Land of Canaan. In the game proper, Victor's line is omitted and Elle simply makes the promise unprompted.

Chapter 2#

Ludger’s total debt was either adjustable or not always meant to be 20 million gald. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Chapter 7#

Jude and Teepo have dialogue before Leia prompts Ludger to use his Chromatus. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Chapter 8/9 (Kijara Seafalls)#

Unused cutscene dialogue when Elle is attacked by the stigma arte in the Fractured Kijara Seafalls. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Chapter 11#

Unused cutscene dialogue from the Exodus terrorist on the Pelune who identifies Fractured Milla as Maxwell and then kills himself with a suicide bomb after the battle. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Chapter 12#

After the party seek shelter in the Drellin inn and receive word from Spirius that they have the final Waymarker. In the final version, it instead cuts to where Ludger is already cooking in the kitchen. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

When the pot of soup falls, Jude has an unused line. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

During Jude’s Bonus Scene, if the player picked the L1 dialogue choice, he has one additional line. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

When Elle is eating Ludger’s soup after having upended the first bowl, she says that it's good. However, there are unused voice lines afterwards and Rollo meows. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Chapter 13#

Unused cutscene dialogue at the start of the chapter, presumably from Vera when the party are assembling the Waymarkers at Marksburg. Japanese text only.

Chapter 15 (Ludger and Elle Ending Route)#

Unused cutscene dialogue when Ludger fights Julius at Marksburg, just before Ludger transforms into Level 3 Chromatus and deals the final blow. Japanese text only.

Julius' defeat quote for this battle exists and is translated into English, but is unused in the game proper as it instead transitions into a new cutscene instead of playing.

Chapter 15 (Julius Ending Route)#

Jude's Character Episode Chapter 1#

Unused cutscene dialogue during Jude’s first Character Episode that leads into a Bonus Scene when the party recruits Alvin at Helioborg, similar to how in the final game, if the player recruits Alvin and Elize first, the start of Jude’s first Character Episode has him talking about Leia and there is later a Bonus Scene at Marksburg when Ludger and Elle meet her. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Elle's Unused Dialogue#

Elle has some unused dialogue that were voiced and subtitled in both Japanese and English, despite her no longer being in the party when some of these chapters are unlocked.

Unused Artes#

Endless Waltz#

In normal gameplay, Julius does not use this arte, despite having localised voice lines. Ludger normally learns it by clearing the Ludger or Elle Ending, after Julius’ death, contradicting the description.

Twin Lotus#

In normal gameplay, Ludger cannot learn this arte and it is exclusive to Victor and Julius. However, Ludger is fully programmed to use it, including localised voice lines, text, and a special mastery bonus.

Unused Skit#

There exists an unused skit tied to the poker minigame. It does not have a title in the game’s data and is not included in the Japanese scenario book, nor is it accessible from unlocking all skits in the in-game skit viewer. It is possible it was unintentionally overlooked due to its skit ID number being 000. Voice acted with subtitles in both languages.

Unused Graphics#

Dummy Save File Graphics#

Found inside the TEXTURES folder inside TLFILE.TLDAT is two graphics related to saving, a dummy Save File image and a dummy Save Icon, respectively.
