This is a sub-page of Sonic Generations (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows)/Unused Animations.
The animations can be found by unpacking bb2.cpk, and extracting the characters under "Msn" (Mission). (Example: MsnTails is "Mission Tails"). These files are used for the game's Challenge Acts.
Extended Co-Op Animations#
Upon entering into a Challenge Act that the player teams up with any of the characters, such as "Cream: Helping Hand" or "Rouge: The Temptress", the characters would introduce on how they would help Sonic traverse through the stages before disappearing to let the player take control. Their "mission_co" file only plays about half of it in-game, with the other half of it being cut off (where they would say to press the button to call them when needed).
Amy#
An animation for appearing when pressing the Y/Triangle button. However, pressing it in-game makes Amy use her hammer immediately. The filename for this is "am_appear.anm.hkx".
Knuckles#
Animations of Knuckles using an uppercut, along with getting hit, which would've been used in Knuckles: Horde of Enemies as the player has to race against the character.
Cream and Charmy#
Both Cream and Charmy only have one animation that goes unused in each of their files, that being them getting damaged by Classic Sonic. While Cream could get hit when racing her, it's unknown how Charmy was supposed to get hit in his Challenge Act ("Charmy: Don't Bug Me").
Rouge#
damage_ssh#
An animation of Rouge getting hurt by something, appearing to be standing up whilst it's happening. Interestingly, it also has has an abbreviation for Seaside Hill, suggesting it would've been used there. The filename for this is "ru_damage_ssh.anm.hkx".
Losing#
Animations of Rouge losing to something, possibly relating to "Rouge: The Bombardier". Oddly, the animation begins in her idle position and then loops indefinitely.
Espio#
Animation |
Filename |
Description |
|---|---|---|
es_damage.anm.hkx |
An animation of Espio getting hurt by something and then just shrugging it off afterwards back to his idle animation, meant for the Challenge Act "Espio: Master of Camoflauge". This never gets used as Espio gets knocked out when interacting with him. |
|
|
es_jump_s.anm.hkx |
Animations of Espio beginning a jump, falling, and landing onto the ground. The only expected purpose of where it would be used is "Espio: Way of the Ninja". |
es_run_loop.anm.hkx |
An animation of Espio running. He never uses this animation in either Challenge Act, so it's unknown what it's original purpose was. |
Vector#
Vector too also has his own damage animation, just like some of the other characters above. He also has an animation for appearing meant for whenever the player were to call him for his help in "Vector: Through the Storm".
