On July 26, 2022, the iconic death sound "oof" (uuhhh.mp3) used for over 16 years was replaced by a more generic "deh" death sound (ouch.ogg). This was because the sound was actually lifted from another game called Messiah, leading to a legal dispute with Tommy Tallarico. On July 18, 2025, the death sound was reverted back to "oof" (oof.ogg) under a new file name, leaving the previous death sound still existing in the files unused.
