QuackShot Starring Donald Duck

God Mode#

Similar to World of Illusion, there are remnants of a free-movement god mode. This time around, it can only be triggered with Pro Action Replay (PAR) codes FFEE07:00FF (Kega) or FFEE06:00FF (Gens). To cancel it, disable the code and press A + Start.

Unused Graphics#

Donald waving his arm around in-air. Purpose for these is unknown.

    Japanese (60 hz) = 00
    English (50 hz) = C0
    Japanese (50 hz) = 40

Revisional Differences#

Various changes were made to the 01 revision, mostly optimizing things. For some reason the cartridge PCB was also changed to map the ROM in an unusual way, possibly as an anti-piracy measure.

Intro#

Rev 00

Rev 01

  • A space was added between the comma and Dewey's name in the intro text in 01.
  • In rev 00, pressing Right in the Sound Test goes straight to Mexico rather than Duckburg, this was fixed in 01.
  • The music for Hideout and The Island were swapped in the Sound Test.
  • Looking at an item closes the item menu afterwards in 00, in 01 you stay in the menu. Conversely, attempting to call the airplane without standing on a flag closes the menu on 01, while 00 stays in the menu.

Stages#

  • The sliding doors in Mexico and Egypt have their "Open" bit set as soon they are opened in rev 01, rather than needing to wait for them to fully open in order to enter them.
  • In rev 00, Hideout uses the Hideout theme in the first area and changes to the 01 Island theme afterwards. Rev 01 uses the Hideout theme for the whole stage.
  • In rev 00, The Island uses the Room2 theme for the whole stage. Rev 01 uses the Island theme in the first area and changes to the Room2 theme afterwards.
  • Note that Hideout and The Island name themes were swapped between rev 00 and rev 01, so the above explanations use the name specifically assigned for each rev in the Sound Test (ie, rev 00 and rev 01 are using different Hideout/The Island themes between each other because of the swapping).

Rev 00

Rev 01

  • One of Pete's henchmen was moved forward a bit in the Viking Ship in 01.
  • Various items were added to the entrance of The Island's temple area in 01.
