DuckTales 2 (NES)

Debugging Functions#

A handful of debugging functions used during development can be re-enabled by setting RAM address 00D8 to a non-zero value. Pressing 1P Select freezes the game until the button is pressed again, and pressing 2P A Button / 2P B Button moves forward and backward a level, respectively.

Additionally, Scrooge will have infinite HP.

Regional Differences#

Title Screen#

The Japanese version has a katakana subtitle translating the English title. (While this is inconsistent with the original game, which was titled Wanpaku Duck Yume Bouken, both the aforementioned title and DuckTales are used interchangeably in Japan when referring to the cartoon the game is based on.) As typical in Japanese versions, the Start prompt text reads "PUSH START" as opposed to "PRESS START" in English/Western releases, and was translated for the French and German releases to their associated languages.

The North American release has different logo art, with the "2" set further from the rest of the logo and using the treasure pile's palette instead of sharing one with the logo. The European release's logo matches the Japanese.
