This is a sub-page of Persona 5/Unused Cutscenes.

Prologue#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene intended for the beginning of the game where Joker runs from the Police in Niijima's Palace, which implies there would have been an additional section of gameplay after the cutscene where Joker smashes through the window. The text for the cutscene was never translated, although the dialogue was dubbed.

There are also three choices at the end:

Japanese

任せろ
後は頼んだ
面倒くさい

Translation

Leave it to me
I'll leave the rest to you guys
What a pain

The video shows the result of the bottom choice.

e100_004#

Watch on YouTubeAnother cutscene intended for the beginning of the game, featuring Joker firing his gun into the air as a signal. Possibly to attract the police. Joker is floating in the air for some reason. Untranslated subtitles for dialogue appear on-screen, but other than the sound of police sirens, there are no other sound effects or voice clips.

Japanese

よし、アジトで落ち合おう!
ジョーカー!始めるぞ!派手な合図を頼む!
あそこだ!

Translation

Alright! We'll see you at the hideout!
Joker! Let's go! Let's blow this pop stand!
There he is!

[Mysterious Voice]
The world is not as it should be. It's filled with distortion, and "ruin" can no longer be avoided.
It is said that man has the power to resist even the most desperate of situations.
Those who oppose fate and desire change... From time to time, they were referred to as Tricksters.
You are the Trickster... Now is the time rise against the abyss of distortion.

It's Igor's contract in text form with no visuals, but uses Igor's voicelines of the statement. The scene starts on with him saying "The contract has been sealed.", but the text reads "...I have witnessed your statement."

e104_002#

Watch on YouTubeA brief scene of the protagonist walking out of the subway in an unused Yongen-Jaya location. The cutscene seems unfinished due to seeing the boundary and the protagonist floating above supposed stairs.

Kamoshida Arc#

e118_002#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene taking place during the protagonist and Ryuji's first escape from Kamoshida's palace. The students overheard something fell and it was a vent cover (They escaped via ventilation shaft in the metaverse). Kamoshida dismisses everyone and takes a look and then notices an out-of-place school bag next to the vent.

…誰のだ?

Translation

[Onlooker Student A]
What was so loud!

[Onlooker Student B]
I know right!?
What the hell was that!?

[Teacher Wearing a Jersery]
Hey! What're you all doing!? Scram!

[Kamoshida]
What's happening?

[Receptionist]
I was away from my desk for a bit,
and there was massive clang.

[Receptionist]
I rushed back
and found this vent cover.

[Kamoshida]
...There's no way this fell on its own.

[Kamoshida]
There's nothing to see here!
Alright everyone, head back to class already!

[Kamoshida]
So this is some idiot's prank, huh.
There's only a few people that'd pull a stunt like this...

[Kamoshida]
...Huh?

[Kamoshida]
...Whose is this?

e119_002#

Watch on YouTubeAn unused scene of the protagonist and Ryuji first escaping Kamoshida's palace. The scene is unfinished due to no sound and them spawning in the middle of the field's geometry after their escape.

e125_001#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene with no dialogue of the protagonist entering LeBlanc as Sae is leaving. The protagonist does work and Sojiro gets a call and leaves, then he closes up shop.

This scene did have dialogue, for a different scene entirely, later found in Persona 5 Royal's 2022 Remaster.

e126_001#

Watch on YouTubeA brief, untranslated cutscene of Principal Kobayakawa and Kamoshida talking to each other in the faculty room.

e129_201#

Morgana
Isn't this place your school? Doesn't any of this look familiar to you?

Ryuji
You mean in this castle? Hell no.

Morgana
Then, let's go somewhere that'll be easier to tell.
It'd be troublesome if you two get exhausted along the way too.

This cutscene has no visuals. Ryuji doesn't recognize the school from inside the palace, so Morgana will take him and the protagonist to somewhere easier to tell; this was probably intended as part of the introduction to safe rooms. In-game, the last line goes out of the text box.

e129_401#

Morgana
What happened earlier...?

Ryuji
You mean that business about the new Persona?
Let's just say he's "special" and leave it at that.
C'mon, let's go.

This cutscene has no visuals. This would happen after Joker first gets an additional persona. This scene is voiced, although the lines are different.

e141_101#

Watch on YouTubeSojiro asking the protagonist about group dating.

e152_201#

Watch on YouTubeThe protagonist, Ryuji, and Morgana getting stuff needed to infiltrate Kamoshida's palace. Morgana comments on Ryuji knowing about Iwai's airsoft shop. Ryuji then comments that they also need to source healing items. Morgana finally asks who's going take him in so that they can stay in contact. Unbeknownst to them, Ann is spying on them. Text not translated but dialogue is dubbed.

There are also two choices partway through:

Japanese

あるわけない
どうしよう…

Translation

No way!
What do we do...

The video shows the result of the top choice, but it is likely they both result in the same dialog.

e154_001#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene with no dialogue of the protagonist getting ready for work in LeBlanc. Sae enters the cafe and he finishes.

This scene did have dialogue, as it was later found in Persona 5 Royal's 2022 Remaster.

e155_001#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene of the protagonist, Ryuji, and Morgana getting ready to go to school, preparing to go to Kamoshida's Palace. Ann is also spying on them.

e160_001#

Watch on YouTubeMeant to take place after forming a Confidant with Morgana, a cutscene of Igor telling the protagonist that he met another companion and curious if they're of this world.

e160_101#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene of Sojiro telling the protagonist of part-time jobs and where to look for them. In-game, Ryuji and Ann tell you about them instead.

e161_001#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene of the group on the rooftop, with Morgana instructing them how to infiltrate and send a calling card; He even quizzes the player. It looked like Morgana would lay down all the steps of infiltrating a Palace all in one cutscene instead of telling them gradually as the story goes on.

e163_101#

Watch on YouTubeA cutscene of the protagonist and Ann on break. Ryuji messages the two that now's a good time to leave.

e179_001#

Watch on YouTubeAn early scene of Makoto meeting up with the principal. The scene plays out just like in the final, except it's in the school faculty room.

Madarame Arc#

e188_901#

Watch on YouTubeAn unfinished cutscene at the school. Camera is out of bounds.

e189_099#

Watch on YouTubeAn alternate version of the start of Mishima's confidant. The scene uses a different flash-forward transition and Igor is there explaining that the protagonist had made a new contract and to use that bond he made to gather the voices of those who yearn for help. This scene has no music or voice clips.

e193_106#

Watch on YouTubeThe protagonist, Ann, Ryuji, and Morgana start heading to Madarame's house and need to take the train first.

e217_011#

Watch on YouTubeThe SIU director contacting someone about the Phantom Thieves and their methods, which he connected that they must've used the Metaverse.
