Gyakuten Saiban 3

Gyakuten Saiban 3 (commonly translated as Turnabout Trial 3), is the third and final entry in the original Gyakuten Saiban trilogy. Continuing where the previous title left off, it also reveals more of the backstory to the series as well as finishing with a fitting conclusion. Known outside of Japan as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations.

Prototype Info

Debug Menu#

Changing the RAM value at address 0x030037B8 to 0x0000000F brings you to a debug menu. It features the build info string "BUILD 2003 1124 0925". An equivalent string doesn't seem to be present in the demo.

Scenario_Select#

Self explanatory, Up and Down to scroll through the scenarios and A to choose.

Cyn_Obj_Test#

A character viewer. Up and Down changes the character while Left and Right scroll through the animations. Select toggles between "Normal" and "Step" mode. When in "Step" mode, A and B can be used to view animations frame by frame. Start toggles the background and when on, L and R change it.

Obj_Test#

Object viewer. A and B scroll through the objects while Left and Right changes the background.

BG_Test#

A background viewer, but for some reason with a permanent wavy effect. A and B scroll through the screens and Select toggles sepia mode.

Sound_Test#

Self explanatory, Left and Right so choose the sound, Up and Down to switch between BGM and SE, A to play the sound and B to stop it.

CT_Test#

Appears to work the same as BG_Test, but with fewer images to view.

Key_Test#

Basic functionality test for the GBA buttons.

All_Clear#

Unlocks every case.

Save Data Version Info#

The game contains some version info at 0x45CBC in the ROM. It is used at the start of the save data. It is unknown if the version info is for the save format or the game.
