Bot Differences

This article has a talk page!
view on tcrf.net

This is a sub-page of Proto:Unreal Tournament (PC, 1999)/Version 222.

Aggressiveness#

Bots are a bit more aggressive than they are in the final game. They'll happily charge people with the Enforcer instead of preferring to look for guns first, like in the final game.

Auto Turrets#

Bots will eagerly attack turrets in this build. However, since turrets cannot be destroyed, the entire team will be slowly picked off by the turrets. This makes certain Assault maps, such as AS-Overlord, impossible for bots to win on their own because they prefer to attack and be killed by invincible turrets than complete objectives.

Assault#

Speaking of Assault, the bots are pretty bad at Assault in this build. They seem much more interested in attacking players than actually completing objectives. In some cases, they'll ignore doing an objective so that they can kill someone.

Bot stats editing#

Bot stats, such as their accuracy, cannot be edited in-game in this build. They can still be edited in unrealtournament.ini, though.

Bot roster counter#

This prototype has only 15 bots defined. The final game boosts it to 32, presumably so that the player has a more varied amount of bots they can play with when they select “Randomize Order”.

Bot profiles#

Several of the default bots are different from how they are in the final game.

Archon#

Archon is on the red team in this build, but is not a member of any team in the final game.

Prototype

Final

Aryss#

Aryss is Freylis, a blue female Blood Reaver, in 222.

Prototype

Final

Alarik#

Alarik is almost exactly the same as he is in the fianl game. The only difference is that he is on the green team by default in 222, but is affiliated with no team in the final game.

Dessloch#

In 222, Dessloch is Cryss, a yellow female Iron Guard. The Cryss name was moved to bot 5, which is documented below.

Prototype

Final

Cryss#

The final Cryss is Ice Weasel, a grey male Dark Phalanax using the Blake face, in 222. The name “Ice Weasel” is used a name for one of the bots the player faces in the single player ladder in both versions of the game.

Prototype

Final

Nikita#

In 222, Nikita's name is Silphe, but she is still a female Necris using the Visse face. The only difference between Nikita and Silphe (besides name, obviously) is that Silphe is on the red team, while Nikita is on the green team.

Prototype

Final

Drimacus#

The 222 Drimacus uses the male Thunder Crash model with the Othello face. The final Drimacus is a member of Raw Steel. However, the 222 Drimacus is exactly like the Drimacus the player faces in the single player ladder.

Prototype

Final

Rhea#

In 222, Rhea is a female Iron Guard on the green team, while the final Rhea is a member of Venom that is on the gold team and uses the Cilia face.

Prototype

Final

Raynor#

The 222 Raynor is a male Dark Phalanx using the Blake face skin that is on the gold team. The final Raynor is a male Necris using the Kragoth face and is not affiliated with any team.

Prototype

Final

Kira#

In 222, Kira is a female Dark Phalanx that uses the Anna skin and is not affiliated with a specific team. The final Kira is a female Blood Reaver using the Tanya face that is on the red team.

Prototype

Final

Karag#

The only difference between the 222 and final Karang is the team he is on. The 222 Karag is on the red team, while the final one is not affiliated with any team.

Prototype

Final

Zenith#

The 222 Zenith is on the green team, while the final Zenith is on the blue team.

Zenith and Cali swapped slots between this build and the final game. In 222, Zenith is bot 13, while he is bot 12 in the final game.

Prototype

Final

Cali#

In 222, Cali is a female Iron Guard that is on the green team. The final Cali is a female Metal Guard using the Vixen face skin that is not affiliated with any team.

As noted in the Zenith section, Zenith and Cali swapped slots between 222 and the final game.

Prototype

Final

Alys#

The 222 Alys is on the gold team and uses the Rylissa face, while the final Alys is on the green team and uses the Sara face.

Prototype

Final

Kosak#

Kosak is the same in 222 and the final game.
