Differences#

Peace Keepers Home#

  • Magnus's cutscene audio lacks background music. Just before the cutscene ends, Spyro cuts in with a line not heard in the final game - "I can do that!".
  • Gunnar's cutscene also lacks background music.
  • Gunnar is guarded by two gnorcs that aren't present in the final.

Dry Canyon#

  • This level includes a few red spring chests, whereas red spring chests are only present in Lofty Castle in the final game.
  • The small gnorcs make a different sound when they die.
  • Conan has no cutscene, instead using text dialogue. The other dragons have cutscenes.
  • Boris is a greenish colour instead of yellow. His cutscene uses the Peace Keepers theme instead of Dry Canyon's.
  • Maximos is grey with red wings, instead of yellow with green wings.
  • For two of the dragons in this level - Maximos and Ivor - their audio had been exported into the wrong sample rate, making their dialogue much slower and deeper than it's supposed to be. Neither has background music and both get cut off early when the cutscene ends (though the rest of their dialogue is present but unheard).
  • Ivor seems to be missing the frill on the left side of his head.
  • An extra life atop a pillar is instead a gem in this build.

Cliff Town#

  • Like Maximos and Ivor in the previous level, Halvor also had his audio exported into the wrong sample rate and is cut off early by the end of the cutscene. The full audio also seems to be corrupted in the final second.
  • Enzo is brown instead of pink.
  • Halvor is brown instead of the purple.
  • All of the dragon cutscenes lack their background music.
  • The purple goop has much flatter lighting, and appears to be a lot brighter as a result.
  • The whirlwind that will take Spyro to the top of the buildings is absent.

Ice Cavern#

  • Ulric's cutscene has a different audio take (which seems to be from a different voice actor) and is missing its background music. Ulric is a brownish-green color instead of his usual pink, and the end of his animation appears to be a bit wonky here.
  • Todor is brown-grey with orange spikes and no frills, instead of a dark teal colour with blue spikes and frills.
  • Aside from Ulric and Todor, all dragons are missing their cutscenes, instead using text dialogue.

Boss (Doctor Shemp)#

  • Trondo is a grey-ish colour instead of orange. His cutscene has no background music.

Flying (Night Flight)#

  • The time-running-out sounds play constantly in this level, rather than only when you're below 10 seconds remaining. This isn't the case for all flight levels in this build, perhaps due to missing sound effects in the later ones.
  • The timer starts at 20 seconds instead of 25.
