Enemies#

Beheaded Rocketeer#

The Beheaded Rocketeer behaves the same as the final Rocketeer, but its model has a few differences compared to the final version's. The shirt is less detailed and brighter than the final's, the pants use completely different textures, and the gun he holds is completely different compared to the final's.

Like all of the beheaded enemies, he uses different sounds.

He's squatting because he needs to take a shit.
Now he's done taking a dump in the middle of ancient Egypt.

Beheaded Bomber#

The Beheaded Bomber has the same skin differences the Rocketeer does: a less detailed skin, a different pants texture and different sounds.

Beheaded Firecracker#

The Beheaded Firecracker's behavior is the same as the final version's, but the model has the most differences between the Test1 and final versions. In addition to having a less detailed shirt, a completely different pants texture and different sounds, it also carries different weapons compared to the final version. Instead of holding a weird claw weapon that does nothing, the Firecracker holds a mini-chainsaw. It is unable to use it if the player gets close, which might explain why it was removed.

Of note is that this design was revived for Serious Sam HD, but this time the Firecracker will use the Chainsaw if the player gets close to him.

Chainsaw made by Mrs. Johnson's 4th grade class.
He replaced his worthless chainsaw with a worthless claw thing. I guess you can't win them all.

Beheaded Kamikaze#

The Beheaded Kamikaze has a cleaner skin, a different back texture and different pants compared to the final version, but is otherwise the same.

I bet that doesn't feel good.

Gnaar#

The Gnaars look the same as the final, but there are a few differences between the Test 1 and final versions. The Test 1 version uses different animations compared to the final version and has completely different sounds of lower quality compared to the final version's.

The flying variant of the Gnaar has a small difference as well: if it reaches low enough health points, it will stop flying and revert to the Gnaar's ground form. This never happens in the final version.

There is an unused “acid” model hidden in the game's files. This is a leftover from when the Gnaar had a projectile attack.

Kleer#

The Kleer looks completely different compared to the final's version. It has a far less detailed model and a horribly ugly, yellow tinted skin. The sounds are completely different as well and can be downloaded at . Otherwise, it is the same as the final version.

The model seen in Test1 can be seen in very early screenshots of TFE.

Arachnoid#

The Arachnoid has a far less detailed skin compared to the final's. The face is completely different as well. Like the other enemies, it uses completely different sounds compared to the final version's.

This design actually appears in the final game via the hint messages for the Arachnoid trap in KarnakDemo.

Prototype

Harpy#

The Harpy has a completely different model. It gives the Harpy strange-looking orange skin and the hind-feathers of a bird. While the flying animations are very close to the final's the ground animations are completely different, with the most drastic change being the “ground fire” animation. Her ground run animations don't appear to by synced up to the Harpy's actual running speed, suggesting the Harpy was slower in earlier prototypes.

Like the Kleer, this model also appears in early screenshots, revealing the design to be very old.

She is the only enemy that lacks information in the information screen. This was fixed in Test 2.

Major Biomechanoid#

The Major Biomechanoid has a very poor and rough-looking model compared to the final's. It lacks all of the details the final one has, the face is completely different compared to the final's and has far stiffer animations (especially its death animation) compared to the final ones.

Like a few other enemies, this version of the Major Biomechanoid appeared in early prototype screenshots as well.

Prototype

Final

Minor Biomechanoid#

While not actually used in the test, the Minor Biomechanoid's skin can be found in the files and applied to the Biomechanoid's model in the model viewer. It shares the Major's Test 1 design, but the “organic” parts of the skin are grey, not the final's blue.
