This is a sub-page of Proto:Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
The small rocks found at the base of walls were less numerous in the prototype, and the plants in the grass originally looked like beans.

Map 83#
Many changes here. The coin machine originally didn't exist, and thus there was no fountain for Mario, either. The ledge that was added to prevent Pump Mario from getting into the right cave entrance also thus did not exist. A sign was added next to said cave entrance, and most of the spiky land at the bottom in the foreground was removed.

Hoohoo Mountain#
Map 76#
A large chunk of mountain wall changed color, and a sign was added at the top. In this build, a random Hoohooligan also appears at the entrance to teach the player about badges, but no tutorial was coded in yet. In the final, a simple badge tutorial happens after the player leaves Beanbean Castle to head to Chucklehuck Woods.

Guffawha Ruins#
The color of the rocks along the floors and ceiling is purple instead of gray. All of the tall red statues do not exist in this area in this build; instead, there are unique, shorter, blue statues that go unused in the final game (with a slight redesign, too!). Additionally, all of the blue face structures that open to reveal paths are instead giant stone slabs with a ghost depicted on it that slides out of the way.
Map 323#
There are four statues instead of two and the Thunderhand receptacles were moved down a bit.
