Please elaborate.
|
A demo for Amanda the Adventurer 2 released for Steam on June 10th, 2024. This dates to a little over four months before the official game's release. In this demo, the player only solves one puzzles and watches two VHS tapes (being "Let's Plan a Trip" and "Watch Me!"). After the second VHS Tape, concluding a trailer for the game's release, the player is transitioned back to the game's title screen.
Differences#
General#
- The lighting is different
- Controller support can be used, but isn't finished as the player cannot move the cursor, nor the camera either, and pressing B/O on either controller doesn't exit the player out of anything. All the player can do is use the X/A button to select, move with the left stick, or pause the game.
- The player cannot run in this game.

The door knobs in the demo are grey compared to the final game being gold. The shades also seem to be less transparent compared to final. |

The corner with the Fire Extinguisher seems to have less polish compaerd to the final. The text above it and the book cases (all of them in fact) also seem to lack detail. There is also no siding on the floor of the walls |

A lot of objects were moved around here. There is a hole that was not present in the demo version. |

A lot less details on the desk can be seen between the demo and final. The pencil case also has gold pens, which were replaced with regular red pencils in the final. Interestingly, these pens were removed in the final game. |

Magazines are missing from the shelves. The one outside the kids corner has a plant missing. It is still found in the game's files though. |

The table has no books. Other than the lighting, looks similar to final. |
Graphics and Objects#
There doesn't seem to be anything much in term of graphics or objects. However, there are a few relating to the books the player can pick up and scan at the computer, along with a few more for the first tape, wall posters, and statue for the Wooly Plush. (Note: The final game has these filenames in different languages, which is not present in the demo version of these graphics)

The cubemap for the outside of the library uses a different cube texture. The image in the demo takes place in the daytime, while the final has it take place at night. |
Unused Content#
Most of the objects, graphics and textures, and every tape and text files from the first game can all be found in the game's files. They are also found in the game's release, before most of them were removed in a later update. This section here will show what's exclusive to the game's files.
Masked Figure#

If the Masked Figure was forced to be spawned into the game, they will appear in the trash can at the information desk.
Kate's Office#
|
|
This page or section needs more images. |
The room to Kate's office is inaccessible to the player by normal means in-game, nor can it be seen through the window due to the blinds. However, the room still exists and is decorated with objects. The area seems to be mostly the same as final, with the only exception being the right corner of the bookshelf. (Not to mention, the bookshelf model itself is gray compared to brown in the final game)
