This article has a talk page! This is a sub-page of Development:Pokémon Black and White/Sprites/Pokémon Sprites.
A few notes about sprites for the past generation Pokemon:
- Most Pokemon did not have sprites until r1734, and the sprites that were used for that revision are literal scratchpads taken straight from Platinum, and are thus identical to those scratchpads. For the second front and back sprites, a cropped version of the scratchpad was used. Unless their sprites at the time were unique, the sprites for each Pokemon from r1734 and prior will not be shown in the tables.
- Gender differences were present early on in development, but were removed from the .narc file in r6572. Around r29877, they started gradually being added back in. It's unknown if they were planned to be scrapped or if they were temporarily removed to reduce workload.
- Alternate forms of Pokemon, such as Castform and Burmy, were not present at the start of development and were added later, in r16587.
