Almost all of the mail items received a minor palette change. Indeed, it is very exciting.

Pretty Wing#

r28368
(April 7 2010)

r32289 Final
(April 29 2010)

The Pretty Wing item was originally a bit smaller and differently-shaped.

Eject Button#

r28368

Casteliacone#

r28368
(April 7 2010)

r30759 Final
(April 21 2010)

The Casteliacone was originally just a bland scoop of ice cream before being designed to resemble Vanillite.

The relic items found in the Undersea Ruins were originally brown instead of grey due to water damage. The band was made a bit smaller, the vase was redrawn, and the statue was different.

Wonder Launcher Guard Spec.#

r40032
(June 7 2010 9:00 AM)

r40036 Final
(June 7 2010 9:03 AM)

The Wonder Launcher version of the Guard Spec. has a single differently-colored pixel on the left side's rim, by the line that divides the disc in half.

Lure Ball#

r4918
(June 5 2009)

r42591 Final
(June 21 2010)

The fifth generation of Pokemon games were the first ones to depict the Lure Ball with a blue top half. In [[Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver|HeartGold and SoulSilver]], the design with the green top was used, and was planned to be used inBlackandWhiteuntil it was changed very late in development. As a side-note, the early design of the Sport Ball that was used in the development ofHGSSwas also present in the repository forBlack and White'' until the same day the Lure Ball was changed.

Xtransceiver#

r27893
(April 5 2010)

r31689 Final
(April 26 2010)

The red design of the Xtransceiver, specifically, originally had a yellow color on the inside of the wrist strap.

Liberty Pass#

r28368
(April 7 2010)

r30759 Final
(April 21 2010)

The Liberty Pass, the event item used to access Victini, was originally a very bland orange and yellow-colored ticket. The final spruces it up with a picture of the building that Victini resides in.

God Stone#

r27893
(April 5 2010)

r33601 Final
(May 6 2010)

The unused God Stone item originally had a different color scheme, one that matched Kyurem's prototype design. They bothered to change it to match the color scheme of Kyurem's final design, suggesting it was still planned to be used even at this late stage of development. The early color scheme can still be seen in the larger item portrait that can be found unused in the final game.
