Add unused text messages that would've notified the player when they completed certain actions (closing a door, stopping a car, etc.) in the final levels.
There's more unused textures to add, including some strange ones.
The House of the Dead 4 is the fourth mainline installment in the long-running series, which introduces hordes of zombies (er...creatures, according to the game director), machine guns, grenades, a combo mechanic, and surprisingly competent voice acting. An expansion of sorts, The House of the Dead 4 Special, was released the following year.
After being exclusive to arcades for nearly 7 years, a PlayStation 3 port was released digital-only on April 2012, including The House of The Dead 4 Special as a bonus.
All of the below graphics appear twice in this file.
An unused "coming soon" graphic from likely a location test version of the game.Artwork of Stones-A (standard Humanoid creature) reaching at the player against a black background. Most likely used after the Continue screen before showing the game's map.The game logo against a red background.
An unused subtitle that reads "And, time flows." Possibly was intended to appear at the start or end of the second level's opening flashback. The word "Chapter" in a different font for the original, likely for the level's title screen. The chapter number in a different font. The English version of the second stage's title, Lost, in a different font. The Japanese version of second stage's title, Lost, in a different font.An unused texture consisting of blood splatters.
This file has 30 unused low-quality screenshots of the game's first level. For convenience, they have been arranged on this page in chronological order, from the start of the level to the end.
An unused life item texture. The final texture is more detailed, with the word "AMS" (the fictional government agency in the House of the Dead series) emblazoned on the red cross.A screenshot of the train section of stage 3.An unused blood effect, likely from shooting the creatures or being damaged by one. Judging by the blood color, it's likely that the blood belongs to Ebitan (water-based creature).
The model and textures of Caleb Goldman, the posthumous antagonist of the game, are present in the files. Goldman only appears in the game via full-motion video cutscenes, thus this model goes unused.
An unused cutscene found within the game files meant to play during the final chapter. This is likely an earlier version of a cutscene used in the final game where Kate and James watch Pandora's Box open from that exact same window.
