Development/Debug Button Placeholder#

TDU2-Debug_Face.png

A strange picture of a face that is used for buttons in debug/development menus.

An early version of the logo found in the game's files.

Early UI#

avatar.bnk

avatar.bnk contains an early Avatar Creation menu. In this video, the person is showing the working parts of the menu. There are Adidas and Diesel logos, but only Adidas is used in the menu. The same .bnk file can be found in the original Test Drive Unlimited, suggesting it was used to test avatar creation in both games.

Unused cars#

To do:
What are the unreleased cars with placeholder Delta?

There are 2 unused cars, the Hot Rod and Nissan 370Z Nismo, the latter having a rare chance of appearing in the Used Car Dealership. There are more unreleased cars, but have no models and instead use the Lancia Delta as a placeholder. Watch on YouTubeWatch on YouTube

Eden Island#

The Eden Island returns from the previous game and can be accessed by doing a glitch. It's unknown if this is an easter egg or simply just leftover.

Platform Differences#

The PlayStation 3 and Windows versions include the Ferrari 458 Italia, an A2 class supercar found in the upper floor of the Ferrari dealership. However, due to a then-exclusive licensing agreement for the car to be exclusive to the Forza series for that platform (being only found in Forza Motorsport 3 as part of the Hot Holidays Car Pack), the car was not included in the Xbox 360 version, instead the aforementioned version has the Spyker C8 Aileron Coupe (an A3 Class car) as an exclusive car.

Both platform exclusive cars are otherwise present in the files of all versions of the game.

Filename Oddities#

The music file used for the used car dealerships is, strangely enough, named stolencardealer.wav.
