Game Freak Libraries TestMode

Oddly, the standalone ROM's title screen appears graphically corrupt as-is. Disabling the layer BG0 in an emulator makes the screen display correctly.

A bunch of sprites for the enemies in the Forest Stage. These go unused in the standalone ROM. The worm looks very similar to Unera from Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins.

Unused Music#

SEQ_MORI#

Music for the inaccessible Forest Stage. "Mori" (森) translates to "forest", and SEQ is an abbreviation for "Sequence".

Oddities#

Recycled Music#

The level music appears to be a remix of the Beach Theme from the PC Engine CD-ROM² System game Bazaru de Gozaru no Game de Gozaru, which had Gō Ichinose as lead composer and was also developed by Game Freak. Given that said game was released in 1996 whereas Super Yoshi no Tamago has a 1995 copyright, though, it's likely that the song was initially made for this game and ended up being reused there.
