Hidden Model Geometry#
King Whomp's Face#
King Whomp puts on this goofy face when he's defeated. However, because the stony titan is facing downwards, it is impossible to see.
Lubba's Hidden Cube#
Lubba has a hidden cube in her model. It is located 60 cm from the zero point and has an edge length of 2,70312 cm. Possibly just a leftover from the modeling program.
Fuzzy's Hidden Cube#
Just like Lubba, a hidden cube can be found inside Fuzzy's model. This time it's positioned at the zero point and has an edge length of 7,64844 cm.
Megahammer's Hidden Cubes#
Megahammer contains two whole cubes centered within his model, evenly distanced apart from one another; both are incredibly small. The left cube's southern face is black, whereas the right cube's southern face keeps the blue color present on both cubes.

Hidden Planet Detail#
Some planets have hidden areas, either covered by the model itself or by other objects.
Yoshi Star Galaxy
The volcano at the start planet hides a part of the platform with the big berry. It is possible that the volcano was originally farther away, did not exist, or this is just an oversight.
Fluffy Bluff Galaxy
The secret planet from the Fluffy Bluff Galaxy has a spot on the lowest floor hidden by the wall. There is even a coin hidden there that is impossible to reach.
Clockwork Ruins Galaxy's Block Oddity#
For some reason, the block to be stomped from the last planet of the first mission of the Clockwork Ruins Galaxy has a setting (arg 3) activated which only lets it stomp in one direction, or in other words, after it has been stomped in one direction, it cannot be stomped back. It is impossible to get to the other side after stomping because it is stomped into the ground and gravity would not allow it to stomp from the other side, which renders this activated setting completely pointless.
This is also the only case where this setting is used at all.
Faulty Melodic Effect#
The midi and beat data of Slimy Spring Galaxy, which are responsible for melodic effects that match the music, such as the appearance of coins and the use of sling stars, are 3 beats too short, which causes them to sound faulty (too fast or slow) in the last 2 seconds of the song before it loops.
Design Oddities#
Rightside Down Galaxy's Wrong Gravity#

If the player were to skip flipping the first blue switch and get behind the Spiny Piranha Plant, the background gravity indicator contradicts the actual gravity present. Walk all the way to the right, and the gravity is normal again.

Slipsand Galaxy's (Almost) Impossible 1-Ups#
In the second mission of Slipsand Galaxy, if the player decides to go to the location of the launch star from the first mission, they will receive 3 1-Ups. However, doing this takes around five minutes of constant spin jumping repeatedly.
Sweet Mystery Galaxy Invisible Floors#
|
|
This needs some investigation. Try removing the invisible walls and check if Mario glitches through any objects in the level. |
Beneath the main portion of Sweet Mystery Galaxy, there is a giant "InvisibleWall10x10" object which is scaled by 40. Similarly, there is another invisible floor half that size under the final wrapped cake planet. Using Yoshi's infinite flutter glitch, it's possible to avoid the dead areas and reach them.
Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker Boss Planet#
|
Low Poly Model |
High Poly Model |
|---|---|
|
|
|
The low poly model for the boss planet in Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker contains additional design details that are entirely absent from the high poly model. These details include an additional cog base with spotlights and a large drill (or nail)-like bottom. Strangely, the high and middle poly models contain a large hole in the bottom that can be seen from certain angles in-game, meaning the geometry present in the low poly model was either forgotten at the last second, or removed entirely.

Filename Oddities#
Octoguy's Rock#
Just like in the first game, the model for the rock spat by the Octoguy is named TakoHeiInk, suggesting that it may have originally been an inkball instead of a rock. The texture for the rock also retains its original filename of MoguStone, a clear connection to the Monty wrench model of the same name from the first game.
