Yup, Jaleco made those loaded bases Super for the second time.
Debug Modes#
Pro Action Replay (PAR) code 849254?? (US version) will replace the Options menu with one of the following screens:
- 00: Field viewer
- 02: Player viewer
- 04: Mode 7 test
- 11: Sound test
Field Viewer#
The field viewer, simply enough, allows you to pan over the entire 2D view of the field. Hold the D-Pad to scroll in any direction, or press A/B/X/Y to move a few pixels at a time.
Depending on whether or not a game has already been played, you may have to scroll through lots of garbage tiles before actually seeing the field. The best way to use this screen is to start any type of game (Exhibition is probably the easiest), then resetting as soon as the players begin running out onto the field.
Player Viewer#
This screen is used to view player animations. Pressing B or A selects the next/previous animation, and holding Y or X will play the animation forwards or backwards on a loop.
Mode 7 Test#
This screen is used to test the Mode 7 effect used during pitches and the "Series Champion" animation.
Press L/R to rotate the stands back and forth, and the D-Pad to adjust the viewing angle. B begins moving the view forward as in the "Series Champion" animation, and A returns you to home plate.

Error Messages#
Anti-Piracy#
Upon booting the game, the game performs an SRAM test to verify that exactly 8KB of SRAM is present; the game does this by writing a value at $700000 and another at $702000, then compares them to see if they are the same to ensure the SRAM mirror is at the correct location. If these values are different, this check fails and thus the game will fade in to the above message and hang. Cartridge copiers typically contain more SRAM in order to support a wide variety of games which trips the anti-piracy measure. This same method of anti-piracy detection would also be used for its successor.
This check is only implemented in the American and Korean versions of the game; the Japanese version of this game does not have this check.

If the game detects that the SRAM is corrupted, it will show up this screen after the Jaleco logo. Once the A button is pressed, the game continues to the title screen with all save data lost.
On the Japanese version, this screen will endlessly appear if less than 8KB of SRAM was detected, making it the closest to there being an anti-piracy check in that version.

Region Error#
Attempting to run the game on a PAL console will hang the game on the above message on boot.
