Bases Loaded 4

Are we done with loading those bases yet? This is the fourth time now.

Unused Graphics#

BasesLoaded4-'91.png

A large " '91 ", stored with the title screen graphics in the Japanese version. It's very similar to the " '90 " used on the title screen of the previous game, suggesting that this entry was once going to follow suit.

Unused Music#

All of the music from Bases Loaded 3 is still in the game. Use the patch code 829B:??:24 (where "??" is a hex number between 1C and 22) to hear the unused music on the title screen.

Sound Test#

In the Japanese version, at the main title screen menu (do not enter any options), hold A + B on Controller 2 and press Start on Controller 1 to trigger a sound test. Here, use Controller 1 to listen to music and Controller 2 to listen to sounds.

Due to code redesign in the US version, this cheat doesn't work anymore at the main title screen menu, it will be treated as entering the OPTIONS mode no matter what option was selected before. Instead, at the title screen, you must select the PLAY option and press Start or A. Once the next menu opens, hold A + B on Controller 2 and press Start or A on Controller 1.

Credits#

In Bases Loaded 4, after you complete the game, you are treated to a one-screen ending. However, when you beat Moe-Pro! Saikyou Hen, you get the same ending screen, but there are game credits following. There are five screens, each with pictures of the developers and their own quotes.

  • "Tatsuya" refers to Tatsuya Nishimura, who left TOSE shortly after the development of this game to work for Capcom. "S.M" is Satoshi Matsushita, who worked on several other TOSE games.
  • Take-1's message refers to the sound test cheat code (see above).
