This is a sub-page of Spore.
Unused Editors#
Spore places heavy emphasis on user-generated content by allowing players to create characters, vehicles and buildings through "editors". In particular, there are editors that are not directly accessible in-game and they are often empty, broken or just creepy.
Cake Editor#
The Cake Editor (cake.prop) is a simple test editor similar to the building editor.
Creature Editor CSA#
![]() |
Leftover Creature Creator from the demo (CreatureEditorCSA.prop).
Tribal Accessories Editor CSA#
![]() |
Unused Tribal Outfitter editor (TribalAccessoriesEditorCSA.prop) that doesn't appear in the demo.
Flora Editor#
The Flora Editor(FloraEditorSetup.prop) allows for the creation of plants, and is rather buggy. Use the launch option -state:FloraEditor
Cell Editor#
This editor (CellTemplate.prop) is has a larger palette of parts than the regular Cell editor. Use the launch option -state:CellEditor
Other things about the Cell editor#
![]() |
There is a hidden main menu option and Test Drive for the Cell creator.
Harvester Vehicles and the Harvester Editor#
![]() |
Harvester vehicles can be made to appear in Civilisation Stage, but they can only capture spice gersers. It is a cut game mechanic.
![]() |
The Harvester Editor (VehicleHarvester.prop) is similar to the other land vehicle editors but has different music.

Here is the remaining trace of the cut tribal Hut Editor. The Hut Editor would have allowed the player to change the appearance of their main hut.
Unused Game Modes#
Spore has had several sections of the game cut from its final release, such as the Aquatic Stage, where the player controls a marine animal rather than a land animal. Unfortunately, they appear to have been completely removed from the final release. This section will instead focus on other things that the game internally considers to be sections of the game.
Level Editor#
The Level Editor allows a player to decorate a planet's surface with props. The Level Editor is accessed by switching the current game mode to LevelEditor with a mod such as ModCreatorKit.
Terrain Editor#
TerrainEditorScripts.trigger The Terrain Editor is a developer tool for designing planets and only exists in the February 2008 prototype.
Animation Viewer#

This extra value for a planet's level of technology is the only leftover from the cut City Stage.
