Unused Early Layouts#
Savannah Citadel Day Act 1 - Unused goal ring#
Floating out of bounds of the stage is an unused goal ring and a few other objects, this seems to be a leftover from an even early version of the old object layout found in the August preview build. Watch on YouTube
Savannah Citadel Day Act 2 - Unused object layouts#
Within the files of the stages folder there are a bunch of unused object layouts, one for each lap.
- The First lap contains flamethrowers embedded in the floor, and 3 tall rings of spikes. The ramps in the middle of the stage lead to a platform lined with springs.
- The Second lap file is very similar to the first, but the positioning of the flamethrowers and rings of spike balls have been moved around. The spring-lined platform has some springs replaced with spikes.
- The Third lap has spikes with crushes located over them at the start of the stage, the flamethrower position has changed yet again, The spring-lined platform now only has springs in the middle, surrounded by spikes on either side, and in place of the spike ball rings are dev-textured platforms moving in a wave pattern.

Savannah Citadel Night Act 1 - Early Layout#

To do: |
Upon the player spawning in the mission "Final Exam", getting the behind the door will a reveal what seems to be an unfinished puzzle for Savannah Citadel (Act 1). The area also reveals a 201st Sun Medal that can be obtained, however it will not change the total amount of 200. A Goal Ring can also be found to where the player can beat the level this way.
If the player were to do the level normally traverse through the level backwards to the beginning of the level, the area will reveal what seems to be an early object layout of Savannah Citadel (Act 1) compared to it's final counterpart.
- The early layout almost indentical to the Savannah Citadel from the preview build.

Cool Edge Day Act 3 Early Leftover Layout#

Within the files of the stage is an early unused layout, this layout is much more simple that the final game, but one of the ziplines in a shortcut does not work and sends you to your death. Watch on YouTube
Dragon Road Night act 1 Early Layout#
A very early layout predating the August Preview Build, contains many placeholder grabbables and even swinging poles orientated vertically which break Sonic's arm when grabbed. Watch on YouTube
Arid Sands Day Act 1 - Early Leftover Layout#
Within the files of the stage is an early layout which fairly similar to the final layout, however towards the final wall running section the object layout disconnects from the stage terrain. Watch on YouTube
Arid Sand Night Act 1 Unused Early Layout#
Once again within the stage files is a very early object layout, this layout has very few objects, only the bare minimum needed to pass the stage, and extends into what would become the beta area. A small section in the middle does contain a few objects, and some of the grabbable handles do not function correctly. Watch on YouTube
Skyscraper Scamper Day Act 3 - Unused Early Layout#
Another unused layout in the files, this is also very barebones, containing very few objects, but enough to reach the end of the stage. Watch on YouTube
Jungle Joyride Day Act 1 Early Leftover layout#
- An early layout for the stage, it is much more difficult from the final layout, with many flamethrowers on water, and it also disconnects from the terrain at a certain point.
Jungle Joyride Day Act 4 Early Leftover Layout#
- An early layout for the stage, it is simpler and easier than the final layout, and lacks the short 2D section in the middle. It also has fewer rings in the water sections.
Jungle Joyride Day Act 5 Early Leftover Layout#
- An early layout for the stage, it is somewhat unfinished with only 2 aero chasers appearing.
Jungle Joyride Night Act 2 Early Leftover Layout#
This stage contains an early object layout file which has you using dark frights instead of dark bats to cross, far fewer enemies, and even has some unused bombs present. Watch on YouTube
